Re: The Surprising Kansas Jayhawks==Can They Steal a Game From the Sooners??

Wind blowing out at 15 mph is a problem for anyone playing the Sooners.

Re: OU's Emerging Team Identity?

I don’t love comparing teams from different years - there are so many variables that make that comparison difficult. I prefer to judge our teams abilities relative to their peers on a year by year basis. The 2024 team is 1 or 2 in many of the hitting categories. Not quite as dominate as last year, b...

Re: Sooner Women's Basketball: Round of 32 vs Indiana on their Court

I thought officiating was extremely 1-sided in the first half, but more balanced in the second half. As for the announcers, I was so frustrated I looked up the color analyst - Andrea Lloyd, expecting to find she was connected to Indiana. She isn’t, but guess where she played college ball? University...

I noticed Ludlam had a more traditional bat grip, but with the 2 fingers still heavily taped, she just isn’t going to generate power.
Like I said - Lud has plenty of power even with 2 heavily taped fingers… :D

In the other side of our bracket, Indiana leads Fairfield 38-34 at halftime. Fairfield led much of the second quarter, but Indiana closed on a big run.

Re: Oklahoma Women's Gymnastics Set to Host Big 12 Meet on Sat @6:15

On the Huddle Thursday night, KJ mentioned that she expected OU would be sent to Michigan or Arkansas for NCAA regionals this year - likely Michigan, but one of those 2. It just dawned on me this morning that we competed meets @ Michigan and @ Arkansas this year. I doubt that scheduling was an accid...

Re: Oklahoma Women's Gymnastics Set to Host Big 12 Meet on Sat @6:15

I got curious about the SEC and scoped out a bit - their conference championship is also today on SEC network, but I noticed they have 2 sessions. Session 1 is at 2:30 and session 2 is at 6:30. They have 8 schools - the bottom 4 compete in session 1 and the top 4 in session 2. It appears they take t...

Re: Maxwell, Jennings & Torres: Sooners win 8-1 over Baylor - 8,798

Well done ladies - love how they hung in there until they finally broke things loose. Disappointing they didn’t close out the run rule with bases loaded and 1 out. I noticed Ludlam had a more traditional bat grip, but with the 2 fingers still heavily taped, she just isn’t going to generate power. No...

Re: Maxwell, Jennings & Torres: Sooners win 8-1 over Baylor - 8,798

That play at 3rd that Bailer made on Hodge was incredible - you’re right - maybe 5-10% chance of success and about 60% chance that it became a 2-run error - if that ball gets past the left fielder, both Hodge and Boone are scoring.

Re: My Quick Take on our Games With the Baylor Bears

Who was the Cub shortstop that couldn’t conquer his yip throwing to 1B? Wound up having to play first base. Really impacted his career. Don't remember a Cubs Shortstop with the yips, but Jon Lester had them when he was with the Cubs. Couldn't throw to 1st base from the mound. Rick Ankiel had them w...

Re: My Quick Take on our Games With the Baylor Bears

The most important question when heading into this series against the Bears is this: Does the catcher who has the "yips" still play for them? If so, I may not be able to watch... She does! I call her the shot-put catcher. I saw a bailer game earlier this year and she was playing and “puti...

Re: Ludlam?

I think Plank spoke a bit out of school tonight - early in The broadcast, he said “hoping for Kinzie to return by the Texas series”. He later cleaned that up a bit and said “maybe Kansas”. My interpretation of Plank mis-speak/overshare - Texas is the optimistic hope. And Ludlam AB’s tonight were not...
