If Parker can get her groove back, I think the offense will really start clicking. I've thought that Parker and Pickering could win OU a couple more Natties if they get it going like they can do.
Sanders....she has one of the easiest power swings I have seen.
Garcia....who would have thought her ...

Re: Tennessee defeats Oklahoma on Sunday 5-3 in an one inning result
This series was played on a razor's edge. The two teams are very evenly matched. I also reflect on how many games are closer than the score indicates with only one play on one ball can lead to a series win or loss. (Side note: Patty held Coor at 3B this time around and it made no difference in the ...

Re: A Little Tidbit from Research Today... Records After 33 Games
Thanks again, Believer, for the Context of this year versus the past. OUSB isn't doing too bad in comparison, eh? Especially with a team that does not include most of the players that created those same amazing stats.
You've opened my eyes to something important, especially with OUSB this year ...

Re: Deal Pitches & Sanders Powers the Sooners past Vols for 4-1 Win!
All in on your take, TN!
Maybe, just maybe, Coach and the staff made a good decision about starting Deal in Game 2, with the Series outcome on the line no less. They thought Deal was the way to go...and in amazing rabbit out of the hat fashion...she pitches the game of the season to date! Luck or ...

Re: Time to bench Ella Parker?
I catch your frustration vibe, Troll.
I'm not sure what the answer is for Parker; that's up to her and her coaches. I rest assured that anything that may hurt OU's chances to win in the context of the team and program, Patty will make the best call based on the information she has in dialogue with ...

Re: SEC Softball Weekend Results & SEC Standings on Monday the 24th!
It was an odd call that seemed to be at odds with realities on the ground. A GOAT gaffe? Bottom line, I was disappointed in that one call because I wanted another outcome that I imagined COULD HAVE happened otherwise. Reality is that Tenn just outplayed OU by a close margin. Reality is that OU did ...

Re: Oregon
There may be a veritable barn full of dark horses this year. Oregon, Miss State, ATM, LSU, Zona, and Stanford all fit that saddle, IMO. An argument could be made that a few of these teams are not complete unknowns to softball glory and perhaps only slightly grey horses.

The Championship Mindset, Fan Edition
The Championship Mindset is a huge part of OUSB Culture for the players, and I am sure the team is learning what that means every day they wear the Crimson and Cream. Is this something a fan can also take to heart?
I think so.

Re: SEC Softball Weekend Results & SEC Standings on Monday the 24th!
I'm confused why Coach waved a limping Coor home in the bottom of the 7th. Plank said Coor was out by four or five steps. Bases loaded with one out is much better than bases loaded with two outs and Patty knows this - and the reason for my befuddlement. As great as she is, I think Gasso made a ...

Re: #10 Tennessee visits #2 Oklahoma in SEC Softball this Weekend !!
This series is definitely the most intriguing and challenging thus far in the season. It has all the makings of a classic movie preview - will the hero prevail!? Of course, we all know that by the end of the movie the hero will be right back in the same place he or she started - hanging from another ...

Re: Sooner Softball travels to Wichita for Wednesday Game at 6 PM
I like your "in context" perspective, Believer.
Games like this are a challenge to interpret: The offense went Super Nova while the pitching fizzled like a damp sparkler. Sooners win while feeling like it was a loss. I get that as a fan.
I'd also enjoy hearing from the WSU coach about what was ...

I agree, inconnu!
That phrase, "Any given Sunday" doesn't float around sports for no reason.
I hear Gasso repeatedly stating the importance of playing every moment of every game with focus and respect for the other team. Disrespect or lazy, "got it in the bag" play doesn't look good in any case ...

Re: Obstruction ?
In real time (watching the highlights), it looked like obstruction at the plate. On replay, it looked like the catcher was fielding the throw which brought her between Sanders and the plate - so, not obstruction. The home plate ump even saw it as obstruction in his real time view. It was a very ...

National Freshman of the Year? I'm all for it! Garcia is on a tear.
I would love to know just what it was that flipped Gabbie's switch lately. Hitting streaks and slumps both are interesting phenomenon.
