Re: The Elephant in the Room
The stats are great! The wins are terrific! This is an Historic Run and Moment in all of sports! No arguments with any of that. However, the stats feel a little hollow right now, to be honest. Not because the stats are meaningless, but because they don't matter anymore for the Ultimate Goal of the T...

Re: Bedlam game #1
The team did the best they could do tonight. I'm positive it was not for lack or will, want to, or trying. It wasn't enough to win for one reason or another. What more can be said? Yes, there are reasons for the loss. I'm just not sure what the Sooners can do about those reasons staring down the pos...

I am proud of Kierston and her achievements this season.
She embodies so many Sooner values and has grown tremendously as an athlete and person this year.
Congratulations to KD!

Re: Upcoming OU vs OSU Clash
I have adopted the philosophy that OU's team "imperfections" are still good enough to beat most teams on a given day. I think if the squad plays solid, and in line with their stats in all categories, they will have every chance to win - even with a bobble here and there. Playing OSU is an ...

Re: Sooner Softball scores 9 runs in 1st / 7th to win 10-2 over UCF!
In Defense of Chicken Little: Defense 1.) I think it's the scoring lulls for multiple innings that get folks nervous, including myself at times. I think if OU had scored one or two runs each inning, the vibe of the game might have switched from "scoring drought" to "steady progress&qu...

Re: Kierston Deal Named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for Tulsa/Houston
KD seems to have reached another level lately. Good for her! From what I could parse as to why, it is that she stopped trying so hard to be perfect....and started being a pitcher instead.
I really like this young lady!

Re: Food for Thought: LOB for the Sooners in 2024
That all makes sense, '56! Thank you for putting in terms that are easy to understand. All the indicators that positively influence the LOB% favor the Sooners. It also makes sense that if the other team has only one base runner, and she scores, they have no runners left on base for a perfect LOB%......

Re: Food for Thought: LOB for the Sooners in 2024
Thank you '56 and Sooner Girl for your stats and thoughts about the stats. You certainly answered my questions and expressed my thoughts about the LOB "issue" for OU. I thrive on the dialogue between my own perceptions (often biased and based on what I Want to be happening rather than what...

Re: OU Sooners Host Houston in 3-Game Series @ Love's Field: F, S, S
Not being glib....but can anyone make the connection between spiritualism, analytics and statistics in softball? Not being glib...is there a connection between a player's or team's spiritualism and their OPS, BA, ERA, or Slug%? Are spiritual teams more successful than non-spiritual teams? How would ...

Re: Houston Game 1: Beginning of a Sooner Surge?
After Game 2.... ....It seems like the team has some things figured out a little better. Sounded like we played with more energy and focus (on the field and in the dugout). It showed in the hot start on defense and offense, and several clutch plays. Defense and pitching was solid again. Hitting/scor...

Houston Game 1: Beginning of a Sooner Surge?
I listened to the game on the radio, however, I missed the first three innings. I was glad when I tuned in that the Sooners already had a lead and were holding the Cougars to zero. (The last couple weeks had me a bit anxious to jump in the middle of a game and hear the squad was behind. In the past,...

Re: ICYMI -- UCLA and Stanford
I can see why there was controversy! To my eyes, the catcher set up parallel to the infield edge of the baseline and in no way was completely blocking the runner's path to the plate. The catcher's back foot looked to be in front of the front of the plate and not between the runner and the plate. Tha...
