Re: Houston Game 1: Beginning of a Sooner Surge?
I just can't imagine that Coach Gasso is happy about that, but what do I know? I'm just a fan trying not to fall off the ledge. I listened to Patty's post-game interview with Plank, and you are correct, she's not happy about that at all. OK, instead of saying "not happy", "frustrated...

Re: OU Sooners Host Houston in 3-Game Series @ Love's Field: F, S, S
Quite frankly, Jayda and Cyd have both been in a bit of a slump lately so sitting them for a game doesn't seem unreasonable to me. One thing I've come to trust is how well Patty knows and manages her team. I think back to the time when she made Jocelyn Alo take a long break from softball in the midd...

Re: Sooner SB: Maxwell, Brito lead the 7-3 Win & Series Win over BYU
This game was an improvement over Friday (it had to be!) but it still wasn't the crisp solid game we've come to expect out of this group of players. While there were a few clutch hits here and there, there were several missed opportunities to completely blow the game open and make it a run rule. Hop...

Milos Uzan Transfers to Houston
Oklahoma point guard Milos Uzan announced Saturday he will transfer to the University of Houston. Uzan represents a significant addition for the Cougars, as the replacement for All-American point guard Jamal Shead, and caps a week that saw starters LJ Cryer and J’Wan Roberts commit for one final sea...

Re: BYU outplays Sooners in 3 phases and wins 9-4 - OU loses 3 of 5
I agree, 1KC with your comment about the off-speed stuff. Most of the team just doesn't appear to have that timing down at all right now. A lot of fouls, weak bloops or grounders off the bat. Not a whole lot of power at the moment. And when someone does seem to finally square one up, it's hit right ...

Re: OU Softball Hosts BYU at Love's Field: Thu, Fri, Sat in 3 games
8-0 run rule win in 5 by the Sooners tonight. OU scored 4 in the bottom of the 5th with no outs to push the lead to 8. Cyd Sanders with a walk-off 3-run blast to end it. Jayda had a 3-run shot as well, and Pickering with a solo dinger. The bats finally came alive in the 5th with 4 straight hits to p...

Re: Friday Night Lights
From what I read, this was an ESPN decision. They wanted OU's first game as an SEC team in prime time.SwampSooner wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 12:55 pm Sounds like a TV broadcast is in the offing. Hope it isn't PPV.

Re: OU vs Texas - Game 3
Sometimes you have to give credit to the opposition. Texas* played better these last two games and deserved the wins. Much like OU, their offense wasn't anything to write home about, but it was obviously just enough to get the job done. The Sooners didn't hit the ball very well at all in this series...

Re: It's Time: Oklahoma vs Texas: Red River Rivalry in Austin in '24
I watched the game twice. Once live with Plank's broadcast and the second one was with the ESPN announcers. I never noticed it with Plank. It was annoying as hell on the ESPN broadcast. I also watched it synced with Plank last night and like you, never noticed it. Kind of hard to miss listening to ...

Re: It’s OU-Texas week
I firmly believe the team is ready for this series. The seniors came out this past weekend and sent a message to KU (and quite frankly, the rest of the league) that they are still the dominant team in the conference. They jumped all over the Jayhawks all three games, putting crooked numbers on the s...

Re: It’s OU-Texas week
Watched some of their series with OSU. Their fielding is still very suspect. Definitely an area the Sooners have a distinct advantage.

He might be best known for his 71-yard TD catch from Jamelle Holieway during the Sooners' Orange Bowl victory over Penn State to win that national title I thought he was best known for his Sooner Magic-esqe catch and run in the final seconds against Nebraska that set up the game winning field goal....

Sooners take Game 1 on a combined No-Hitter by Braden Davis and Reid Hensley. OU won 13-0. Davis pitched 7 innings, striking out 12, and fanning the last 8 batters he faced. Talk about total dominance!

Re: OU's 25 Greatest Players
Some of the King's thoughts about Owens from Bootlegger's Boy ... In the 1967 season we set the proof on the table that Oklahoma had returned to the game big-time. We had several of the type of players I call difference makers. Granville Liggins, our nose guard from Tulsa, was on his way to his sec...
