It is nice to see Rylie Boone included on the 3rd team. She may be the 2nd best defensive OF in the D1 softball. Boone's stats are very similar to Kendra Falby's and I bet they are as good as Meono's.

When someone beats OU in 2023 there will be a great deal written about it. Someone will beat OU though, and it might happen 2 out of the first 3 weekends. It might happen a couple of other times before the playoffs as well. But in the end, the Sooners are stacked as all college softball fans know and understand.

11 days away from the start of what could be a season to truly remember for the Sooners.

Thanks for posting this '56.
Almost all of our starting lineup made one of the three lists.
I am really glad Rylie Boone at least made their 3rd team. She is overlooked wayyyy too much and she is such a important member of our team.
Congrats to all our Sooners that made their lists!

I don't remember seeing Nicole May on another All-star list either. Has she made any other(s)? In any case, glad for Rylie getting some recognition

I believe this is the first time Nic has ever made one of the "All Star" list. Long overdue.
Congrats to her as well--another very important piece to the Sooner team.

Edit:
Actually, May was also named in Softball America's Preseason Top 100 list, at #40, as FarJourney reported in another thread a few days ago. A different way to look at an "All Star" representation I suppose...but none the less accounted for there. Sorry for the oversight.

I know OU is all over these teams, which is might be why Alyssa Brito got passed over. I think she's set up for a big year. Also think Hansen is going to make the selection of UCLA's Palacios at first-team catcher look silly. I understand it, given the year Hansen had in 2022 because of injuries. But I think Kinzie wears the chip on the shoulder well and will be highly motivated to do some mashing this year.

BTW, we need some OU softball smilies on this board. There's a BV big head. How about one for HCPG, the G.O.A.T.?

I thought that we had a smilie for Patti but it looks like we don't. I personally don't have the skills to create one but @ClaireOKC might. I will ping her to see if that is feasible

I read somewhere that if you have talent up the middle, you have a winning/championship team: P, C, SS, 2B, CF. AA's all of them!
We have All-Americans at every spot except 3rd base and LF (unless you count Bahl as a LF'er and she's an AA, too)...and who's to say 3B and LF won't have AA numbers by the end of the year.

Just amazing!

Playing chess with all Queens! Ha!
