Sooner Men's & Women's T & F Teams travel to TX Relays this week

Post by OUBeliever56A »

The Oklahoma Men's and Women's Track and Field teams will travel to the Texas Relays for a meet from the 27th to the 30th. As of now the Sooner staff writers article has not been shared. It looks like the action on Wednesday (27th) could be a cross-country event which I do not think OU would compete in this spring.

I will post more about this weekend when something is posted.

Junior Colin Caso earned a title in the men's 10000m, and five Sooners grabbed new collegiate bests and one secured a spot on OU's all-time outdoor list. The article is a good read.

Good luck to the teams today in Austin.

For Oklahoma, the day was highlighted by Olivia Lueking as she secured the women's pole vault title with a 4.40m (14'5.25") jump, the second-best mark recorded in the NCAA so far this season. Other Sooners in the top 5 finishers were:

- In the men's 4x800, the quartet of Fernando Morales, Gabe Medina, Logan Seger and Carlos Tello recorded 7:33.98 for fourth place.

- Jasmine Akins grabbed fourth in the women's triple jump (section A) with a 12.96m (42'6.25m) mark.

- In the men's triple jump (section A), BJ Green took fourth with a 16.14m (52'11.25") leap.

- Two Sooners competed in the men's shot put (section A). Diego Trevino registered 18.96m (62'2.50") for fourth place.

- The men's 4x400 relay closed out the day in the Cleburne Price Jr. university invitational. Zarik Brown, Richard Johnson, Jaylen Barringer and Gage Hensey clocked in at 3:05.44 for third place.

Congratulations to all the Top 5 finishers for the Sooners!

The Sooners take a week off before hosting the John Jacobs Invitational April 12-13.
