JA will have some weapons next year. Wonder who replaces Drake though, as clutch receiver.

He is going to shine at TE with JA and all the WRs we’ll have.

Multiple Oklahoma Commits and Targets Set to Play in Upcoming Round of High School Playoffs
The high school football season is almost over, and the Sooners still have a handful of commits in the 2024 and 2025 classes who have a chance to play into December.

The high school football season is starting to wind down, meaning that state championships are right around the corner.

With the prep playoffs heating up, there are still plenty of local OU commits and targets in the hunt for a state title.

Whether you're in Oklahoma, the Dallas-Fort Worth area or even Kansas, here are a few matchups that should be on your radar this weekend if you're hoping to get a look at some future Sooners.

Oklahoma

In the 6A-1 Division, OU commit Devon Jordan and the Union Redhawks will take on the Jenks Trojans, led by 2026 Oklahoma offer Kaydin Jones.

The state semifinal game will take place on Friday at 7 p.m. CT in Sand Springs, OK, with the winner advancing to the OSSAA State Championship game to meet the winner of Bixby-Owasso.

Jordan is a 4-star cornerback pledge in the Sooners' 2024 class who picked Brent Venables and company over Alabama, TCU, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State, amongst others.

Jones is the son of former OU great Kejuan Jones and is a talented two-way player for Jenks. While the athletic sophomore plays running back and defensive back, he would likely play on defense in Norman.

Currently, Jones holds offers from Utah, Colorado, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and others.

In the 5A Division, Carl Albert will take on Bishop McGuinness on Friday at 7 p.m. CT in Noble, OK.

The Titans are led by four Oklahoma commits; including 2024 3-star running back Xavier Robinson, 2025 4-star quarterback Kevin Sperry, 2025 3-star linebacker Marcus Jams and 2025 3-star athlete Trynae Washington.

In addition to the four prospects who have already announced their pledge to the Sooners, Carl Albert also features 4-star defensive back Trystan Haynes, who holds offers from OU, Alabama, Texas A&M, Miami and others.

Earlier this season, the Titans took down the Fighting Irish 49-7 with Oklahoma signal-caller Dillon Gabriel in attendance.

Alexander Shieldnight and the Wagoner Bulldogs headline the 4A Division, and will meet the Ada Cougars at Southern Nazarene University on Friday at 7 p.m. CT.

Wagoner is 12-0 this season and have won their first two playoff games by a combined total of 80 points.

For the Cougars, tight end/defensive end Cord Coffee is a talented player who visited Norman for the Sooners' matchup against West Virginia.

In 3A, Andy Bass and unbeaten Heritage Hall look to continue their dominant season when the Chargers meet Marlow on Friday at 1 p.m. CT in Newcastle, OK.

Bass has had a remarkable season and will likely be the front-runner for Oklahoma Player of the Year. In Round 2 of the playoffs, Bass went 8-for-12 for 269 passing yards and two passing touchdowns.

The 2024 Sooners' running back commit added 10 carries for 192 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground in Heritage Hall's 49-0 victory over Berryhill.

In the 2A Division, two of the state's quarterfinal games are of value to Sooners' fans.

First, 4-star 2025 OU wide receiver commit Jaden Nickens and the Millwood Falcons will meet Idabel at 1 p.m. CT at East Central University in Ada.

The Falcons have lost only to Heritage Hall this season, and have won 11 consecutive games since falling to the Chargers.

Idabel, on the other hand, has a perfect 11-0 record this season and is led by 2025 athlete Matrail Lopez, who holds an offer from UTSA.

On the other side of the 2A bracket, Washington will meet Vian later that evening at East Central.

Led by 4-star tight end and Sooners' target Nate Roberts, the Warriors are heavy favorites to win their second consecutive state title after taking down Millwood in the 2022 championship game.

Texas

In the Lone Star State, there are also a handful of Sooners' commits still standing in the UIL State Playoffs.

On Friday at 2 p.m. CT, 4-star 2024 OU quarterback commit Michael Hawkins and the Emerson Mavericks will square off against Wichita Falls Rider at Ram Stadium in Mineral Wells, TX.

Emerson also features 3-star 2025 defensive back Maliek Hawkins, who holds offers from both Oklahoma and Texas, among others. The Hawkins brothers are the sons of former OU and NFL defensive back, Michael Hawkins Sr.

On Friday night, Longview will take on Lancaster at City Bank Stadium in Forney, TX. The Lobos feature 5-star running back and Sooners' pledge Taylor Tatum and have an 11-1 record this season.

Tatum is the No. 1 running back in the nation and has had a fantastic year for Longview. On the other sideline, Tigers' wideout Emmanuel Choice holds an offer from Oklahoma in the 2025 class.

In the Houston-area, 4-star 2024 OU wide receiver pledge Zion Kearney and Fort Bend Hightower will meet C.E. King High School in NRG Stadium at 10 a.m. CT on Friday.

The Hurricanes are 11-1 on the season and will play at AT&T Stadium in Arlington if they are able to advance to the UIL state title game.

2026 Sooners' running back commit Jonathan Hatton and Cibolo Steele have a tough matchup this week as well, with the Knights set to square off against unbeaten Harlan in the Alamodome at 11 a.m. CT on Friday.

Currently, Hatton is rated as the No. 5 running back and the No. 79 overall player in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports.

Steele also features 2025 OU wide receiver target Royal Capell, who earned his offer after a strong showing at the Oklahoma's football Camp this summer.

Kansas

On Saturday at 1 p.m. CT, Derby and Gardner-Edgerton will meet for the Sunflower State's 6A title game.

Derby is home to 2025 Sooners' tight end target DaSaahn Brame, who is rated the No. 96 overall prospect and the No. 4 tight end in the upcoming recruiting cycle.
