I say that because his defense has always been a challenge for us. Even when we should have walked through the game, he seemed to me to have a plan to counter whatever we threw at them.

I think the biggest problem Iowa State has compared to a couple of years ago is that guys like Breece Hall and Brock Purdy (a 3 star out of high school and the very last player selected in last year's draft) are now doing pretty well as starters in the NFL instead of suiting up on Saturdays. I think they hit on a few guys who were difference makers, but don't have a steady inflow of top talent.
