Jackson Arnold's problems with hearing. If You remember he was shown constantly having problems.Should we trash the "In Helmet Communication"?

It’s a problem that must be fixed ASAP. If he is having trouble hearing the communications at home, it will be 10x worse in the Cotton Bowl, at Auburn, and at LSU.

Absolutely we should. Mentioned this in another post. Ditch the HUNH, too. With an inexperienced QB & an offense that has been absolutely decimated by injuries, OU should be employing the same tactics Houston did Saturday night. Huddle before every play & snap the ball with under 5 seconds left in the play clock. Try to keep the clock moving by running the ball & with high percentage short- to intermediate passes. Shorten the game, limit the number of possessions & lean on your elite defense.WishBone wrote: Tue Sep 10, 2024 5:05 pm Jackson Arnold's problems with hearing. If You remember he was shown constantly having problems.Should we trash the "In Helmet Communication"?

Tell the scoreboard noise machine operator the same thing. I know I'm an old man now, but it's a non-stop barrage of noise that only dies down when they're about to snap the ball.OldTimer wrote: Wed Sep 11, 2024 12:05 am I think someone needs to tell the band to cool it while we’re on offense.
I make big plays in big games, that's all.

FWIW, yesterday Teddy mentioned that he wore the "green dot helmet" in the pros. I assume that meant the communication from the coaches helmet for the defense. He said he always covered his helmet earholes, not because he couldn't hear but that he wanted to block out any and all extraneous noise and only focus on the message from the coaches. He didn't think it was necessarily a big deal or that JA couldn't hear, just that it's not all that uncommon to cover the earholes.
