Availability List for South Carolina Game

Post by WishBone »

Additional updates will be provided Thursday and Friday after 7 p.m., with a final pregame availability report posted no later than 90 minutes before kickoff Saturday, which means final status designations for those players should be made public 10:15 a.m. on gameday.

According to the SEC's student-athlete availability reporting policy, "probable" means a player has a 75% or greater expectancy of playing; "questionable" means a player is uncertain or has a 50% chance of playing; "doubtful" means a player is unlikely to play or has a 25% chance of being available; while "out" means the player will not play that week due to either injury, illness, suspension, ineligibility or personal matter. Availability reports do not include information on injuries or other additional context surrounding a player's status. Teams are permitted to provide additional information at their own discretion via press release, social media post or coach's comment, so long as the information is consistent with the player's status on the availability report.

Below is the full Wednesday availability report for Oklahoma and South Carolina:

Oklahoma availability report

Nic Anderson WR Out
Jalil Farooq WR Out

South Carolina availability report

Maybe the best summary of our first season in the SEC is the "Walking Wounded".

Prediction - the injured WRs will be out the rest of the season. Even if some come back, they will not be anywhere close to 100 percent. No weapons.

How many WRs do we get from the portal before next season ? Four ? Tight ends? Two of those? One RB?

That is 19 players. That would almost make up the bulk of one recruiting class of 25 players. That is a bunch, I can see 10 to 12 ?
The thing that really hurts is 5 receivers at the same time? Then throw in very little time for QB to get the ball off in passing. Then very little success in running success in the running game. Maybe “Sooner Magic” can grow some wings on our running backs. Hawkins
did try flying over those defenders if I remember right? 🤔 🙄

I don't know that they are waiting to hit the portal, but Farooq may just go on to the pros?
also, can these guys get a redshirt year if they wait till the last 4 games to play?

That is something I never thought about ? Maybe a kid see no future here, waits it till end of season out still making big money
& bails.🤔. Look what happened when Lebby left Dillon skips to the Ducks, &now look at us, & were we are? We were left
with out a OC, & maybe the others see there future the same way. I hope that is not the case, but player talk to each other, &
what’s best for them. Our kids are all frustrated & confused in this offensive system. We are not seeing that on the defensive side.

Seems like anything is possible. For example,

“ Alexander, who started all 13 games for USC last season, has been pushed into a backup role in 2024. Now, following a few lackluster weeks during which he recorded just four tackles, Alexander is planning to redshirt the season and enter the transfer portal, according to On3.”

So he’s opting out of the rest of the season at USC.

We used to call it “quitting” back in the day.

Anyone who “self-redshirts” when they were healthy enough to play should be required to refund every dime of NIL they have received.
