Sooners vs Alabama === Do we get blown out next Saturday??
Bama is 8-2 on the season with the two losses being in conference against Vandy and Tennessee. Both were one score losses.
Wins are against W KY, USF, Wisky, Georgia, S Carolina (by 2 pts!) Missouri (a shutout), LSU, and Mercer.
We should've beaten Missouri, and LSU has somehow taken a dive late this season. Signature win obviously against the Dawgs.
Offense is averaging 438 yds/gm
Defense is limiting opponents offense to 325 yds/gm
They ave 192 yds/gm rushing and 246 yds/gm passing.
If we had an offense with a pulse that could put some points on the board...chew some time off the clock....so the defense, who has played well in the 1st half of games, had something to go out and fight for, maybe we could keep it respectable.
But I'm not sure that will happen.
So, with that, do we suffer a lop-sided defeat next weekend? Or can we keep it close enough to make people blink?

If the game stays close, the defense will hold them dramatically under their rushing total.
Staying close will require NO OU turn overs and likely a couple from Alabama.
This Alabama team is no juggernaut, but OU is trying to be a patsy. If the OU corners can actually knock down some passes, OU can hold them far under their average scoring numbers.
Now, can OU score enough, some, any?
Maybe, maybe, maybe there is a surge in player pride and doggedness that surprises a likely complacent Alabama team. In most cases, a home underdog that continues to keep it close (and maybe lead), gets stronger from the fans and the opponent being shocked.
Sadly, this team has never shown much determination in the fourth quarter.
Best guess, OU covers a very high spread, but can't deliver a win for us Sooner fans....

Best guess is OU keeps it close for a half but is unable to sustain and loses by a couple touchdowns. Similar to Ole Miss game.
Seems like I've heard this before. If and but were candy and nuts we would all have a Merry Christmas - Dandy Don Meredith. I hope we win. It seems we have done well against Bama in Norman in the past. It can happen again, I can feel it.

TBH i find myself ignoring CFB and watching NFL. The NFL has a much higher level of execution than CFB , it is like a different game. With OU not contending for anything and the painful nature of the offensive performance this year it is too frustrating to watch the Sooners…..
But i will watch to see if there is a miraculous transformation to the offense before the next game…..or the following game…..
But i dont even bother to look at non OU CFB games and i dont look at ranking or playoff contention…
Who will we get for OC???? He has to be great!!
I honestly think we were never a great offensive team even back with TBOW. WE were just blessed with a string of NFL caliber QBs that carried the offense, Baker, Kyler, Jalen, Caleb , even Rattler and Dillon….. Look at USC west now that Caleb is gone . they greatly improved their defense but with a good CFB level QB (but not an NFL starter) they are losing…….
We really need a great OC……

I think with Hawk and his quickness is the best QB with Tatum,Robinson and Barns if his ankle is good. The Oline is better and Dline is good do worry about the pass D playing at home think we have a chance!
