The #4 ranked Oklahoma Sooner Women's Tennis team is on the road this weekend with matches at Michigan (#20 ranked) on Friday at 5 PM and at Ohio State (#17 ranked) on Sunday at 10 AM.

Here is the pre-trip review of the matches by the staff writers.

Both matches should be very good tests for the Sooners who have used up to 8 players in their matches to open the season and won 3 straight times with shutouts.

Good luck to the Sooners in Michigan later this afternoon.

The first leg of the Sooner Women's Tennis Team's journey to the BIG10 started off on the down side on Friday. #20 Michigan down the #4 Sooners 5-2 as the Wolverines took 5 of the 6 singles matches and the Sooners took 2 of the 3 doubles matches.

With the Sooners winning the doubles point based upon the 2 victories to 1 victory in the doubles the Sooners held the top hand after the doubles. As the article points out the Corley sisters defeated the #2 ranked doubles pair to open the path to the double point. Ruiz and Guzman for OU nailed down the doubles point with a tiebreaker win in the 3rd doubles match.

In the Singles started strong and never slowed down winning 5 of the 6 matches. Only Guzman, playing in the #3 singles match prevailed for Oklahoma.

The match was extremely close with 9 sets being won by a tiebreaker for the 7th game won to decide the set. Seven Sooners played in the match with I Corley playing doubles and Straker playing singles.

Here is the staff writers article about the upset by Michigan.
