The Oklahoma Sooners Women's Gymnastics Team will be in Ft. Worth for another podium event in the Metroplex Challenge on Saturday evening at 7:30 PM. The top-25 quad meet will also feature a pair of SEC opponents in No. 11 Alabama and No. 16 Arkansas, and No. 24 Stanford from the Pac-12. The Sooners are #1 and the defending National Champions.

The metroplex challenge organizers are really missing the boat by not lining up someone to televise this meet. With the big names competing, it seems like ESPN+ or BTN or someone would have been willing to at least stream it? Crazy.

The #1 ranked Oklahoma Sooners Women's Gymnastics Team scored another 198+ score with a 198.125 to win over a eager Alabama squad by 0.125 as the quad meet came down to the final events in Ft. Worth last night. The Sooners won the event with a stellar Floor performance over Bama. The order of finish for the finish for the four ranked teams was:

#1 Oklahoma 198.125
#11 Alabama 198.000
#16 Arkansas 197.125
#24 Stanford 196.725

The Sooners scored over 49.425 on all four events with a team high on the Floor with a 49.675 and the Bars with a 49.675 also. All six of the Sooners posted a Floor score of 9.900 or better. Jordan Bowers got one 10 from the judges and one 9.95 for a 9.975 score. On the Bars, five of the six scored a 9.900 or better. Faith Torres also got one 10 and a one 9.95 for a score of 9.975 on the Bars. The other two 10's for the Sooners last night was Bowers on the Bars with a 9.90 for a 9.950 and Torrez on Floor with one 10 and one 9.90 for a 9.95.

On the Vault, only 2 of the Sooners scored over 9.900 with Aubrey Davis leading the way with a 9.925. On the Beam, again, only two Sooners scored over 9.900 with Jordan Bowers leading with a 9.925.

Bowers led the All-Around event with a 39.750. Davis finished 3rd with a 39.625.

This was another strong performance by the Sooners under Coach KJ Kindler.

The Sooners are back in action Sunday, Feb. 19 at Texas Woman's University. The meet is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. CT. The Sooners' next home meet is Friday, Feb. 24 against West Virginia at 6:45 p.m. CT. Individual home meet tickets are as low as $5, and can be purchased at SoonerSports.com/tickets.

Great job by the Women last night!
