Uneven Bars Preview

Post by AustinTXSooner »

Going into the NCAA postseason, this is how our uneven bars season has gone.

Team
=====
We are #1 in the country on uneven bars with an NQS score of 49.650. Second in the country is Florida at 49.630. In order to raise our NQS score, we need higher than a 49.625. 4 of our 6 NQS scores are on the road. After the first 3 meets of the year, we've been pretty stellar on bars.

The other teams this weekend:
49.410 10 Kentucky
49.405 12 Alabama
49.340 17 Arkansas
49.315 20 Ohio St.
49.195 28 Illinois
49.140 31 North Carolina St.
49.125 32 Ball St.
49.070 36 Iowa

Individuals
=========
9.9600 6 Audrey Davis: She needs better than 9.95 to raise her NQS score. She has three 9.975 scores. I'll never understand why she doesn't have any 10s.
9.9450 10 Jordan Bowers: Needs better than 9.925 to raise her score. She seems to do a little better on the road than at home. The first meet was the only sub 9.90 score of the year.
9.9250 21 Ragan Smith: Needs better than 9.90 to raise her score.
9.9250 21 Danielle Sievers: Needs better than 9.925 to raise her score. 5 of her NQS scores have come in the last 6 meets
9.8800 75 Faith Torrez: Needs better than 9.875 to raise her score. Has only broken the 9.9 barrier twice. Hasn't competed in this event 3 of the last 4 meets.
9.8700 98 Danae Fletcher: Needs better than 9.850 to raise her score. Has been alternating with Faith Torrez since Olivia Trautman came back.

Olivia Trautman needs 1 more road meet to qualify for an NQS score. Once she does, she'll be in the top 20. Her lowest home score is 9.90, so she's looking to beat that. She's currently averaging 9.930

Other top bars performers here this weekend:
9.930 18 Makari Doggette, Alabama
9.915 29 Shealyn Luksik, Kentucky
9.915 29 Courtney Blackson, Boise St.
9.910 31 Colby Miller, Ohio St.
9.910 31 Luisa Blanco, Alabama
9.910 31 Raena Worley, Kentucky
9.905 42 Nicole Riccardi, Ohio St.
9.905 42 Norah Flatley, Arkansas
9.905 42 Cam Machado, Alabama
9.900 49 Kaitlin Deguzman, Kentucky
9.900 49 Mia Takeawa, Illinois

Jordan Chiles leads the nation with a 9.980 score. 3 of the 5 people above Audrey Davis are former Olympians. Trinity Thomas and Leanne Wong, both from Florida, are the other two. That tells me that we have a deeper team than Florida.
