Sooners @ Tulsa Game Thread

Nash stays in the circle for Tulsa in the top of the 5th

Sanders hits a fly ball to deep RCF but Morgan the CF makes the catch on the warning track
Lyons grounds to Scaggs at 3b for the 2nd out
Lee grounded to 3rd for the 3rd out

Sooners go quietly in the top of the 5th,, They lead 2-0

Too many out of the strike zone chasing, seems not much patience at the plate.

May back to pitch the bottom of the 5th

Bearpaw hits a ground ball to Brito and Alicia makes a great play on a tough hop and gets the out at 1st
Keith struck out swinging, 2 outs

May comes out of the game and Deal comes in to pitch

Deal gets Wood to pop-up to Jennings and that ends the 5th inning

Deal throws 3 pitches and finishes the 5th, Sooners with a 2-0 Lead

Nash again in the 6th

Nugent pinch hits for Hansen, she grounds to SS and Edwards makes the play
Brito drives the first pitch into CF for a line drive base hit
Erickson bats for Torres, she dumps a ball into shallow LF for a base hit, runners 1st and 2nd
Boone at bat, misses the bunt and leaves Brito in a rundown between 2nd and 3rd and she is tagged out, 2 out, Erickson at 2nd
Boone singles up the middle, Erickson holds at 3rd, runners on the corners
Coleman pops uo to shallow RF, Jones the 2b ends the inning

Sooners leave 2 more, but lead 2-0

Storako pitches the bottom of the 6th

Nash struck out swinging on a change up!
Jones struck out swinging
Morgan drives a ground ball through the 5/6 hole for a base hit
Denson hits a soft ground ball that Erickson fields but Denson beats her back to the bag, runners on 1st and 2nd, 2 outs
Edwards hits a high fly ball to Coleman and the threat is over

Sooners lead 2-0 after 6

Nash for the 7th

Jennings walks on 4 pitches
Sanders lays down a sacrifice bunt for the 1st out, Jennings on 2nd
Lyons walks on 4 pitches, Jennings on 2nd, Lyons on first

Moore comes in to relieve Nash, she pitches well and gave up only 5 hits, no earned runs

Lilio in to pinch hit, she strikes out on 3 pitches for the 2nd out
Nugent has a good at bat seeing 11 pitches and drawing the walk to load the bases
Brito HITS A GRAND SLAM HOME RUN OVER THE LEFT FIELD FENCE, 6-0 Sooners!

Erickson grounds out to Jones at 2b but the Sooners add a 4 run cushion and lead 6-0

We're spoiled and like to win every game by 20, but this was a good tune-up for the Sooners. They got a win, got to pitch their entire staff and played good defense. Nash pitched a nice game for Tulsa and the Sooners continued to show off their ability to score 2 out runs.

We're reaching the point in the season when we need to step up to the opportunities!

We continue to be duped by the drop balls, and aren't able to get under them very often, resulting in grounders for quick outs.
