the highlight of the day for the Sooners was Sophomore Kassidy Gallagher. Gallagher became the second Sooner in program history to win a Big 12 title in women's hammer throw with an impressive 67.62 meters on her first attempt. With her mark, she obliterated an 11-year-old facility record last set in 2012, second-best in program history, and also earned a personal-best record. The Sooners have held the top spot in hammer throw for the last three seasons as Lauren Jones went back-to-back in 2021 and 2022.

The Sooners continued to dominate the throws events as freshman Pippi Lotta Enok earned second-place in women's javelin throw with a 48.66m. This marked a personal record and sixth place in program history for Lotta Enok.

Good luck to the Sooners in the action today.

The Oklahoma Sooner Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams turned in a very good performance on Saturday as both teams valuted themselves into first place in the Big 12 Championships here in Norman this weekend.

Going into the final day (Sunday), the Sooners lead the team competition on both the men's (55 points) and women's side (75 points). For the men, OU has a three-point advantage over second-place Kansas (51), while the women are dominant with a 26-point lead over second-place Iowa State (49).
