Imagine what OU could do with Canady

Post by waddy's ghost »

If she hit the portal I'm sure that Rocha could mold that enormous talent and make her even more formidible . It is a pipe dream but maybe Canady would like to win a title .

I'm guessing Canady is not going anywhere. If you've got the brains to be accepted into Stanford, then that degree is worth a LOT.

Do Stanford ;) athletic schollies have the same academic requirements as non-athletic schollies?

Did we recruit her out of high school? In the article I read it didn’t mention that she had visited.

I've never heard nor read anything about Patty talking about the recruiting of Canady. One article mentioned several schools she had an interest in, but there was no interest in OU stated. Her velocity is hard to practice for, for anyone.

Stanford was dream school. Life beyond softball and a degree from Stanford means something.

I think you put Canaday on ANY team and they become a contender.

I believe I am correct in saying Canady had been to OU camps and to OU Showcases so Canady was known by OU. I think Canady was a thrower when she would have been recruited. A thrower probably without a drop or change. Her drop came later. She probably threw hard, but not this hard.

But the 2022 class was a committed back when most of them were freshman or that summer. OU staked their pitching initially on SJ Geurin who was ranked higher at the time by most services. When a catcher named Leah McAnally from Edmond decommitted from OU a spot opened up and OU choose Deal. Hodge and Erickson were long time commits.

The recruiting process is much different today.

Canady was at several camps etc! She was offered but that Stanford education is on another level. Can’t blame her for going west for the education.

Didn’t it came down to OSU and Stanford and she chose Stanford?
