It seems like, reading/listening to the pre-game articles, podcasts, etc., that many if not all of the teams will use multiple pitchers on opening day. Since today's winners Friday off, Tennessee could throw Rogers today and bring her back Saturday -- especially if they're able to use another pitcher or two in relief. Alabama seems settled on the rotation they used in the SR -- Torrence and Fouts, in one order or another. (edit: and as I was typing this, Alabama posted Torrence as today's starter.) Stanford might throw Canady and Vawter today out of necessity, to help keep OU off balance, and to preserve both as options going forward. I think the same might be the strategy of OSU (Maxwell & Kilfoyl), Washington (Meylan & Lopez) and certainly FSU (Sandercock, Reid, Leonard, Royalty, etc.). I'm not that familiar with Utah, but I think they were multiple in the circle as well.

I agree with your first 2 but may opt for Washington as they have "been there" before - but I think that game might be biggest toss-up. I wouldn't be surprised if OSU won, however, having beaten FSU 2 out of 3 earlier reminds me of last year where they had swept Texas in the regular season. The better team usually comes out on top in the WCWS. I think if OSU is in their early/mid season form, they may win. I'm not convinced they are. Their trip to the WCWS was really pretty easy with only Wichita State being a semi-challenge.

Tennessee strikes with 4 two out runs in the 2nd to jump to a 4-0 lead over Bama. A Puni double accounted for two of those runs.

Bama's season clock just struck midnight and they're getting rolled up by the great pumpkin! 10-2 Vols, run rule gets the Sooner game back to scheduled start time!

Tennessee looks really good. This is the 3rd time I've seen them play this year, and they are a solid club. I think osu/fsu will be tight- could go either way. I'll throw my vote in for washington over utah. Go Sooners!

I agree - I think if the 2 best teams make it to the finals it will be OU vs Tenn.

SoonerGirl, I think with both OU and Tenn on the same side of the bracket, only one of us will advance to the championship series--kinda like us and UCLA last year.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about this.

The loser of the OU-Tenn game (Game 7) drops into the bottom bracket (texas played that role last year not UCLA :)). The loser of the bottom bracket saturday game (Game 8) moves up into our bracket in exchange. Last year we booted texas out of our bracket and then they tore through the bottom bracket to meet us in the finals.

In a way it is a real advantage to us - if we beat Tenn and boot them into the other bracket and take possibly a Washington/Utah in exchange!
Winning against Tenn definitely puts us in the driver's seat!

FSU leads 2-0 over OSU in the top of the 3rd but it is in rain delay. OSU is the visitors and bats in the top. There is 1 out in the top of the 3rd and FSU scored in the bottom of the 1st with a 2 shot HR.

So far Maxwell is doing pretty well but I don't think she is over her funk. Her body language seems to show that something isn't just right. I think they blew through the regionals because they had relatively easy competition. We'll see if I'm wrong and they right the ship here, otherwise I'm thinking FSU may take this one.
