My attitude toward Lincoln has changed
I want to send him gift baskets!! Had he not been such a snake and left on his own exactly when he did, we would probably be at best what USC is right now. We would have been demolished by texas (I don't think even Caleb could have overcome the defensive deficiencies we would have - because remember we are not getting the recruits like Bowen, etc in '23 with Lincoln here).
Sure, the way he left tore us down last year, but maybe that is honestly the best way for it to be done - like ripping off a band aid. Instead of a slow lingering continuous death that we would still be under with him. I doubt Joe C would have ever gotten to the point of firing him - maybe, but who really knows.
Looking at it now, it was truly a massive blessing that he left exactly when he left. Brent is exactly what we needed when we needed him. I'm serious, this all has divine intervention written all over it.
I'm seriously super grateful to Lincoln!!!!

Well, much like the guy beating you up stopping and leaving, I too am glad tbow left. I am NOT willing to thank him. His sham coaching cost us four years of development and wasted three fine QBs (Caleb will be the fourth).
I DO thank GOD that he is gone!

I’m glad he took Grinch with him and did not take Bedenbaugh or Murray.

He DID try to take BB and DM and as I understand it they both told Snake to f off .Maybe they were slightly more polite than that but I'm not entirely sure .SoonerTony wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2023 1:31 pm I’m glad he took Grinch with him and did not take Bedenbaugh or Murray.

Over Saturday, we learned that with the right coach, it doesn't take 3 to 5 years to build a great program ... Brent Venables has put together a great group of position coaches and done a great job of recruiting. I had much faith in Brent taking the OU head coach job. I didn't think that he would put on the field of the Cotton Bowl yesterday as Venables did.
I was shocked at the OU offensive line and the defensive line, as I never really thought we could take on the horns with the big uglies and beat them. Our OL was as good as many of that many years ago and the same for the DL. The OU defense stopped the horns three or four times keeping them out of the endzone.
We have watched the game three times since the end of the game. OU physically beat the horns and the OU coaching showed how much progress Brent has done with the Sooners.
We are very lucky for the timing for losing Riley and getting Brent at OU.
