If all my question marks play and all injuries are pretty much healed we should have 2 teams at near full strength. Might be a heck of a game. It will have to last until spring practice. It's going to be a long winter/summer.
Just a thought as I was typing...What was Arizona's best win?
I think Oregon St is Zona's best win followed by Utah.
Based on FEI ratings (rankings),
Arizona is 0-1 vs Top-10 opponents,
1-1 vs Top-20,
2-2 vs Top-30,
4-2 vs Top-40.
In comparison, OU is 1-0 vs Top-10 and Top-20,
3-1 vs Top-30,
5-1 vs Top-40.
An "elite" team has a FEI rating two standard deviations above an "average" team. A "good" team has a FEI rating one standard deviation above an "average" team. An average team is one like Colorado, UNLV, Illinois, UTSA, etc.)
If a good team played OU's schedule this year, that team is expected to lose 1.33 more games than OU did.
If a good team played Arizona's schedule this year, that team is expected to lose 0.17 more games than Arizona did.
With no opt outs and transfers for either team, Arizona is a "good" team according to FEI, whereas OU is closer to "elite" than it is "good".
With opt outs and transfers......who the heck knows.
