49 is too young to die. Colonoscopies should start at age 45.....Ryan was diagnosed last fall with Stage IV. For God's sake people, a colonoscopy can save your life.....DON'T PUT IT OFF!

It is a shame that he went so young.

I thought they didn’t even recommend a colonoscopy till after 50.

They need some other test that is simpler and can be given to young people

50 was the age I started colonoscopy procedures. But according to the Mayo Clinic and my doctor, they recommend beginning at 45. Ryan is a good example that the Mayo Clinic may be on to something.
Per Mayo Clinic:
Screen for colon cancer. If you're age 45 or older and at average risk of colon cancer — you have no colon cancer risk factors other than age — your doctor may recommend a colonoscopy every 10 years. If you have other risk factors, your doctor may recommend a screen sooner. Colonoscopy is one of a few options for colon cancer screening. Talk with your doctor about the best options for you.

Sad! It is so hard to understand why God takes someone as him that young. I lost my father when he was 48. But God has his reason.
We must pray for his family, & friends that are suffering right now. God bless!

They do have this. “Cologuard “ has been on the market since 2014. It’s a stool based non invasive screen for people 45+.

So sad, prayers for his family. My father in law died of colon cancer, he was obviously much older. He put off the colonoscopy and boom he had stage 4 cancer.

A great man and a great SOONER! I always thought watching him playing BB that he would have been a great QB!
