Sooner Women's Golf @ MountainView Collegiate this Weekend

The Oklahoma Sooners Women's Golf Team is going to be out in Tucson this weekend for the MountainView Collegiate. The Collegiate will a 54-hole tourney with 18 holes each day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Sooners have finished in 5th and 2nd in their last two tournaments this spring.

The Sooner Women Golf Team is 16 shots behind the tournament leader South Florida who is 6-under par. They are 7 shots out of that top half finish which is a good goal for the team in this field.

The Sooners tee off on hole #10 today starting at 8:30 AM. (I am not sure about how that compares to CST in Arizona. I do not think they have DST there, so it might be the same as CST.)

The Oklahoma Sooners Women's Golf Team played their final round on Monday in 7-over Par, 295 to finish at 10-over Par for the 3 rounds. That left OU in 10th Place out of the 15 teams at the MountainView Collegiate. The 10th place finish was 5th out of the five Big 12 teams at the tournament.

The Sooners shot 298 (+10), 283 (-5) and 295 (+7) for a +12 total for their three rounds at the MountainView Collegiate. The other Big 12 teams shot these scores; Houston -4, Iowa State -1, Kansas State +3 and TCU +7.

The Sooners individually, finished in these positions:

T21st - Regan Chaney - EVEN - 216 with a low score of 69 (-3).
T27th - Savannah Barber - +2 - 218 with a low scored of 70 (-2).
T40th - Isabella Schlick - +5 - 221 with a low score of 73 (+1).
T49th - Gracie Mayo - +7 - 223 with a low score of 66 (-6).
80th - Kaylee Vesely - +21 with a low score of 77 (+5).

The Sooners next event is The Bedlam Cup on Friday, March 22 at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club. Hopefully, I can fit in walking the course with the team on Friday before I go to OKC for the Baylor and Oklahoma softball game at the Hall of Fame Park.
