I suppose that depends on how you look at it. We are first in the nation on Vault, Bars, and Beam. We are second on Floor. In general, Vault has the lowest scores across the nation and Floor has the highest.OU_Tom wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 5:27 pm Order of events for OU on the 18th is vault, bars, beam, floor. I think vault is OU's weakest event. It is probably good to start off on weakest and finish on stronger events.
The important thing is that's the normal order of events when we are the home team. That's a small advantage. But, we might be slightly behind after the first rotation. Not a big deal.

While vault is the Sooners “weakest” event in terms of their own scoring, they are ranked #1 in vault. Their true weakest event, as compared to other teams, is floor - I don’t know their current NQS, but they are not #1 in floor. They are #1 in vault, bars and beam.
So if the Sooners are “behind” after vault, it has more to do with relative rankings - the other teams have to do vault as well.
It will be an interesting meet for sure - the Sooners posted a 198.4 in the regional finals, which was the high score among all regionals, but the other 3 top seeds (lsu, California and Florida) all posted 198+ in their regional finals.
Thursday competition determines individual and all-around event winners, in addition to determining the 4 teams for the finals on Saturday. First goal is advance to the finals. Second goal is lock in some individual champions.
