I'm thinking May? But she has been lights out as a reliever. Would we start Kelly/Deal and then bring in May maybe?

I would start May or Kelly

Relievers only useful if we have a lead. We don't have great depth so I say put your best pitchers in early and hope that they have a good outing

I think starting Maxwell or Deal and then May out of the pen is the way to go .

May's history against UCLA (WCWS 2021 and WCWS 2022) is spotty, I probably still go Maxwell against their lefties.

Don't forget we have a secret weapon.
Karlie Keeney.
She went up against Brooke Yanez and Megan Faraimo in last year's final regional game. After the Bruins scored 1 run in the 1st, Keeney shut them down and pitched 6 scoreless innings winning 2-1 and sending them home to watch the rest of post season from the couch.

. I would agree. Maxwell will most likely start, but don’t be surprised if Patty goes with Deal

I agree I think we probably start Maxwell. I like what Tropical brought up about Keeney. I think the good part is that UCLA isn't familiar with Maxwell from what I remember - so that should bode well for us I think. I also believe Kelly hasn't been performing up to her standard yet in the post season. She is due for a lights out showing and hoping this is the first of a few more :)

I heard announcers yesterday and during supers mention that kelly really struggles with sweaty hands. Strange that I've heard it twice now. It's something every pitcher has to learn to manage.

I did a quick check and I couldn't find where Okie lite has ever had any contact with the Bruins prior to this spring during Maxwell's tenure with them, so Kelly would be a new face for them to see.
That said...it'll probably be May! lol........
