I will go with "Haley6", she is always knowledgeable. "Haley6" is on another site.

It could be a catcher, Krolczyk, SE LA or Emerling, NC.

I will say if it was a non Canady, I'm thinking they would have posted on their twitter/instagram pretty quickly to get the word out. I could see a reason for Canady to hold off announcing until later tonight to let the main news cycles end.

I know in Maxwell's case - where there was a known element of high controversy, Maxwell was very low key on the matter and didn't make the announcement herself for some time after Patty's "boom" early in the day (even though word got out and that whole "slip" announcement happened where Kelly had to basically announce after everyone already knew). I could see Canady following suit to allay some of the hand wringing and OU-hate machine. Maybe I'm just being optimistic though - but at the first of this week I was really feeling like Canady may be looking around and for some reason today I'm feeling like she is/has committed to us. Again - no inside information at all - just gut feeling. Totally could be wrong.

She's a catcher, transfer from U of North Carolina, is a strong hitter with a 323 average, and has either 2 or 3 yrs of eligibility still. She's from California.

I read she was a top 10 catcher out of HS. As a frosh in ('21?), I saw she was going to Cal. Then, UNC. Now OKU.

She looks like a very good get - hit more homers and had more RBI's than Hansen last year. She is tall at 5'10", I believe. Described as an excellent defender. Nice!

:ou: When the Catcher room starts getting full again we will probably loose a good player to the portal in 2026

I kinda wish we had gotten the Grad Catcher for that very reason, but we'll see how this all plays out. Maybe our freshmen will win out in the end?

Rather than worry about catcher transfers, teach the best hitting frosh catcher First Base too since that will be open after 25.

:ou: When it comes to a position battle and there are 2 or 3 players competing for a starting spot, providing that all 3 players have equal defensive skills, Patty will go with the hottest bat. With so much offensive firepower from the 2024 Natty Team, Patty will be wanting the 9 best bats in the line up. If a position has 2 great hitters competing and Patty wants both bats in the lineup, then she find a way to do it. When Patty brings in a transfer, she brings them with belief that they can help you win and probably be a starter. There are exceptions, the most recent was Riley Lulam who was brought in to back up K-9 and she a great job fulfilling her role. being said , I think this transfer catcher gets plenty of starts over the next 2 years.
