And Texas reportedly has gotten a commitment from Madi Doty, from texas. I'm not familiar with her. But another poster (not a texas fan) posted she was a good get for them.
Maybe so, but completely flew under my radar.

As for us, all is quiet after two weekends. Supposedly Stanton comes to town next week. I don't know if we have any others scheduled or not.
Doty is good. She played for the 16U Glory team that was Co-(..because of rain) Champs of the Alliance Championship series. Their third baseman just committed to FL. She also pitched for the U-15 USA team. I've seen her throw a number of times over the last 3 or 4 years. I don't think OU ever had a chance with her..I think it was TX from the start.

Walton is really building a program for the future at Florida.
They will have Rothrock and Oxley along with Erickson, Shumaker, Falby et.al. and now add Stanton to the mix for their future.
They and Texas are going to be forces to be reckoned with going forward.
Originally I thought Stanton was going to Georgia, and was just making a courtesy call here.
Obviously, I was totally wrong about that.
But I think it also shows how much further ahead Walton is in building up the Florida program than Baldwin is with the Dawgs.

I always kind of thought Florida was the favorite. Yes Florida and Texas seem to be recruiting well. I’d get less nervous if we’d get one public. 😂

With Texas and Florida with top pitchers maybe that puts EK Smith our direction.

I was thinking that very thing.....EK Smith....just maybe if we can beat A&M away from her.

Maybe we get Smith.
I'm going to guess Rackley though.
If Rackley and Ho-Ching are the two that Coach follows, I'll push my chips in their direction.
Now watch it really be E.K.....lol......

Rackley may want some guarantee that she hits..

Getting Malaya Majam-Finch was huge for us.
I wonder who we might have coming next weekend for visits?
I would like to get one more pitcher, and I'd love to get infielder Ho-Ching.
I think Ayla Tuua really wants to be a Sooner, if it is offered to her.
I wonder if we still have interest in Shayla Bahr? I thought she was close to being a Sooner at one point? But if we get Ho-Ching, then maybe not Bahr?

Finch will be a project and since she is a Jr there is time. She didn’t pitch much on Marty’s 18U team last summer and when she did she didn’t pitch that well..She may have pitched for the Angels’ 16U team as well but I couldn’t find them on GameChanger.

A "project" that throws 67 early in her Junior year is a nice piece of clay to mold. She does have good control which is usually the 'problem' for hard throwers. If things go right, the bulk of the innings in the 2027 season when Majam-finch is a freshman will be thrown by Lowry, B. Zache and A. Parker. Bordi is a 4th good option if she heals from the issues from this summer. So, if as you say, Majam-Finch 'needs' some work, Coach Rocha may have a year to do that work.

I wonder if Majam-Finch will show up in a Batbuster uniform next summer,

Yes..I said there was time but look at her X..not a lot of innings in HS ball either..favor to Jennie maybe?? Also I would take reported radar numbers with a grain of salt..

'56...Bordi--we've wondered about her a couple of times now, about her healing process, etc. I dug around to see if I could find any HS stats yet and got nothing so I messaged a contact that I know who knows the Bordi family to see if she was pitching in HS or a Travel club this fall and how she was doing (post recovery). Her response was:
"She’s graduating early and going to work with her pitching coach
She actually is stronger than she was prior to injury"
I took that as a sign that she is good to go.
Edit: OUFF posed the same question to her separate from mine and her response was "Bordi is full go".
I think we're good.

I must say that if you want to find negatives, you can. If you want to find positives, you can. Most of us trust the Coach Gasso record about recruits. I will say that the trac record on pitchers is not as good as it is with position players, but that could really change with Deal, Lowry, and going forward with the Class of 2025 pitchers.

I doubt that Coach Gasso does a 'favor' to anyone. The player has to be expected to be able to compete for playing time or time in the circle and the player must fit the OU program.

I had been told that Bordi might pitch by the end of the summer season, but that did not happen. Her left shoulder has healed and there is no problem with pitching. The other 'thing' that is bothering Bordi is her right elbow. It is thought to be a position problem of her arm position in her delivery with her elbow to close to her hip. They were working on that with drills. I think they decided to just let her work her way back and get ready for her HS season in New Jersey.

About the "graduating early" part, since she is a senior now, does that imply that Bordi will be her in Norman in January of 2025? That would certainly be news.

I have heard that her parents are considering moving to the Norman area.

Of course they are expected to compete and fit in..she just isn't counting on them. She has signed pitchers/players from OK before that fit that profile because it is good to have OK kids on the roster..there is a freshman that fits that profile perfectly...

As to finding negatives, I am just trying to be unbiased. You cannot let your OU boxer shorts cut off the circulation to your brain..
