Did you mean 85. But Troy was balling out against the Canes before he got hurt. Arnold has been doing the opposite.

Anyway, Hawkins did well. Arnold needs some work. I think with our receivers back and a good OL, we win.

Do you mean Jamelle Holieway in 1985 when Troy Aikman’s leg was broken against Miami?
Yes. Sorry about that. I couldn't even remember Holieway's name. Damn, getting old.

How many points did Tenn score in the second half? If u beat a team with no offense by only ten points what are u going to do with Bama, Tex? What if Arnold didn't fumble and we scored? They kept lauding the Tenn D as world beaters against a horrible OU o line. But the big what if is what if Hawkins played the first half. Yeah if it's and buts were candy and nuts we would all have a Merry Christmas. Dandy Don

This offense is unacceptable. It's absolutely, positively unacceptable. Hawkins is better, but everyone saying that Littrell isn't responsible, I don't believe it was Arnold calling those asinine runs up the middle into the teeth of the defense. It wasn't Littrell who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with the ball either, BUT he's responsible for getting the offense ready, and they were NOT.

I KNOW the defense is great, and SEC ready, but just leaning on that as a reason to be hopeful going forward is not realistic. This team is going to get absolutely destroyed at least once this season because of how bad the offense is, and that's a shame.

I don't see ANY positive coming from this game, as all it did was give the critics reason to keep screaming how "OU isn't ready for the SEC". Coach V needs to fix this offense and fix it NOW.

I had high hopes for Littrell and Arnold ... but I this point it was a HUGE mistake to say Adios to Dillon so we keep Arnold. I bought it into it hook line and sinker. If a 5* is such a snowflake, he will leave it he has to spend 2 seasons behind Dillon Gabriel, we should have let him leave, in hindsight of course. Clearly he could use another season watching Gabriel. I'm sorry but the offense is predictable .. run the ball on first... get into a hole,,,, Choke .... so maybe NOW we know why North Texas fired Littrell?? I kept hearing Joe Jon has a great offensive mind. At this point .. maybe the need to drop the CO-OC .. and make him OC and Littrell can go back to being an analyst..... or just unemployed

I think Arnold has gotten worse under Littrell as time has gone on. Even Hawkins was running for his life.We have all seen JA
Throw some unbelievable passes, in the past. But watching him now, he is not improving, he is In regression. He seems to be
putting pressure on himself.he did not use to throw behind receivers as he does now.People cussed Lebby but we could see improvement in JA as time went on. But now this offense
Is horrible. I know the OL has much to do with it. But it seems every year it is the same thing. These kids are not progressing like
they did in past years on offense. They just do not seem to be in sink as there timing is off.If not for our defense our offense
We would have lost to Houston.i can,t wait to tune in to Teddy & Gabe’s thoughts. When I watch OU on Tv, I turn down the TV
& listen to the radio broadcast while watching TV. I get much better info doing that than listening to the TV broadcasters. Those
Guys kept questioning why we did not try to attack the outside with our runs & throws instead keep attacking the inside run? This
Is going to be a long season if our offense does get in sink. :boohoo:

Oh yes, it’s all on the play not on the other all fancy coaches. It’s not because our receivers were injured. It’s all not because JA didn’t follow and didn’t throw good passes. It was not because the old line didn’t open lanes for the running back run through what to get better Hawkins come ahead, I wonder why oh I forgot you guys are expert

I'm totally guessing here - but I think Arnold made quite a few incorrect RPO reads and perhaps he is even at fault for some of those stupid runs up the middle. I think the rumors of Hawkins outplaying him in the summer were true and everyone started to see even then that Arnold has a hard time of reading defenses and often makes the wrong call on the RPO. If you watched the post game presser Brent specifically said on the backwards pass fumble (first play after a turnover) that that play was an RPO and the read was to RUN. Arnold did the backward pass and alas for the second straight time we turned the ball right back over to Tenn.

This is the SECOND press conference where Brent has called out Jackson (not by name) for making the incorrect RPO call. That says something to me. Add that to Seth's comments after the Houston game (Jackson is the starter for now). Perhaps there is frustration in Jackson continually to make the wrong reads and not showing any signs of improvement?

I think Seth still has to prove whether he is a competent OC or not - but I'm starting to wonder if Jackson not being able to read defenses may have led to some of the plays that leave us scratching our heads (basically poor RPO reads).

I think it is clear that Jackson has not been "right" this whole season. The first game and the Houston game for sure - and then for a good chunk of the Tulane game. I guess it is possible that Seth is an absolute moron and needs to be fired because he can't call even a mediocre offensive game plan. However, I would like to see what Hawkins does with a full week of #1 reps against Auburn next week before I completely make my mind up that Seth sucks.

Gabriel was NEVER going to win any championships. Moreover, he was lucky to get out after seeing this o-line play so far. Frankly, I believe Hawkins has more upside than Gabriel. I was hoping JA would be the answer, but clearly he's not ready. However, until we get our offensive line problems solved, nobody is going to look very good. Yes, even the coaches. I think we all need to all step back off the ledge and let the coaches try to fix this. All this talk about firing Littrell in mid-season is just stupid. Anyone really believe you can successfully install a new offensive system overnight? Especially with all our personnel deficiencies?

Why does everybody forget that we have CO-OC's. Where the hell is Joe Jon in all of this ruckus?

My brother actually brought this up last night when we were talking about it during the game, and this is a legitimate question. SL is responsible for the offense, and BV is ultimately going to be held responsible for results, but where are Finley, Murray, Bedenbaugh, and the rest? Unfortunately, I don’t think this gets fixed during the season, and I think we are going to take 4 or 5 losses, but it HAS to get better before next season, and if that means a complete overhaul of offensive coaches, so be it.
