Bottom post of the previous page:

I was referring to the comments regard the new recruit being a project or that she was offered as a favor to her aunt. I think both comments were out of line and that if Patty were shown them she’d not think very highly of them. It tweaked the poster a bit, which made me role my eyes. The touchscreen on this old iPad doesn’t always record keystroke and I’m too old to catch them all, but in my opinion, he definitely strayed outside his lane by posting those two thoughts,

I am not understanding your comments, please help me. I do not think that anyone above campaigned for anyone for the Sooners to recruit out of the Class of 2026. I think all anyone did was talk about who was at OU Showcases or Camps, that was known due to social media posts or things like that. Maybe a couple of names were mentioned as favorites, but that is all.

I think the posters (including me) are just trying to inform who might be recruited by the Sooner Coaching Staff. We all trust Coach Gasso immensely and believe in her picks. Or at least we should.

I think basically everyone supported the first Class of 2026 recruit, Malaya Majam-Finch. One poster she would take some development at OU, but other than that, everything was positive.

We want to help, if we are not, tell us how to do better, please.

Oh no, not that. I gave my opinion feel free to ignore. Nothing that gets written on here effects recruiting one iota.

The fact is the results on the field up to this point for the one kid they have
gotten a commitment from are not nearly as good as many of the other pitchers in the class. Perhaps they feel her ceiling is higher and with some work she will be better..that is the definition of a project.

The idea that Patty Gasso gives two BLEEPS about conversations on message boards reveals a way, way inflated view of the relevance of message boards.

Probably much the same for recruits and their families. Further, any recruit influenced by message boards probably doesn’t have the fortitude to be a Sooner for the GOAT.

If OU is as loaded as I think we are with the 2024 and 2025 classes, then I can understand why we might not do similarly well with the 2026 recruiting. Playing time is a BIG issue.

3 pitchers in 25 class so very possible OU is only adding one this class.

It's beginning to look like one total in this class.

I would agree.

I think the player on the right in the grey shirt is McLain Hudson, the player who posted the pic. Middle Infielder.

Thanks ouff for posting the picture--and to both you guys for putting up a couple of ID's.

For anyone interested....Brooklyn Gidley committed to Florida.
I may have been the only one following her---she stole 51 bases last year alone. We stole 66 as team.
I hope we can get Bahr to commit.
I'm sorry but I don't know anything about Hudson at all.
And tbh, I don't really know anything about the one commit that we do have, except for her bloodline, but not really anything else at all about her accomplishments.
In Patty I trust though.

I'm hearing the 3rd girl may be Payton Westra--OF with AZ Storm.

Guessing NIL and increasingly bigger payouts are becoming more common. As college softball has gotten more popular, maybe so have the donors become more involved?!

There are still 32 players in the Top 50 that are uncommitted from what I can tell. There is some evidence that OU could be interested in 10 of them. I am sure there are others that none of us know about as well.

There is a long ways to go yet.
