OU doesn't seem to need a catcher this cycle and the position is mostly verballed With Wells, Hicks, and Bordi the future looks good.

OU has 4 infielders verballed but only 1 in 26 class so taking 1 or 2 might be a possibility. The player I think we all want is Ki'ele Ho-Ching number 2 at position and 3 nationally. I think she's a future all american and would put some juice in overall class. ON3 shows her with 3 schools of interest. OU, Texas and UCLA. UCLA has geography on its side as she shows to live 11 miles from campus. This is a battle I really don't want to lose to Texas as it would give them the top 2 infielders in the class. I'm cautiously optimistic on this one The other infielder is McLaine Hudson who is from Kentucky. Her 2 schools of interest show to be OU and Florida. Number 4 at position and 14 nationally. I almost feel both players are takes if you can get them.

So the watch list for final spots from what I can see is

Ki'ele Ho-Ching INF
McLaine Hudson INF
Shayla Bahr OF
Keegan Baker P

And Patty has totally surprised us with every recruit so far so take it with a grain of salt.
You meant Zache there I think?

Good pickup.

Lol. I was excited to learn that Bordi caught but it was a false alarm

I thought the description of the various star ratings was interesting. 4 star was potential All-American. I guess a 5 star is a potential All-Universe? :D

Fair enough, I can see that. You should write in and suggest they change it to that from whatever
ambiguous description they gave.

Yes, here is the link. https://www.on3.com/db/rankings/team/softball/2026/

You can change the year near the top right corner to 2025 and 2024 where they have rankings. Although I believe the rankings for those two classes are not complete yet based on what Brady said.

Effing O-State doesn't have any recruits for 2026!?!?

and the new super-power TXTech only has one long shot recruit! (maybe they've spent ALL their money?) :boohoo:

Do you know why the above ag recruit isn't tallied in that linked recruiting ranking article?

She just committed a few days ago? That is my best guess.Unless they are only counting kids included in their ranking. She was ranked in a few other ranking orgs but not On3 I think. She only
came onto the scene last summer..late bloomer I guess you could say. I was told she was not on their radar until she got into a camp last Sat (my daughter saw her there and was surprised..) . They saw her pitch a HS game Monday and offered her shortly thereafter.

She won’t be an ace but is LH and could be a decent 2/3.

How do they assign stars? Is 5 stars for the top 10 recruits, and 4 stars for 11-50? Anybody know how it goes?

I do not think UCLA has any commits yet from the 2026 class.

I think it is probably "percentage based". something like the Top 5% or something like is a 5-star. As you can see the first 14 players are 5-star. Then the next 86 players are all 4-star. I guess the next group fo players are 3-star.....101 to ???.

The evaluated number of "100" or 97 or 90 (the lowest in the Top 100) is the basis I think.
