STAGGERED & BEAT UP...

Ready to say Arnold is a 5 star BUST! Not the QB OU needs.

And for the first time,...beginning to question if Brent Venables is the HC OU needs.

Disappointed isn't an adequate word for what I'm feeling. Going to drink myself to sleep.

Yeah. My best guess is that Arnold could improve with coaching and an offensive line. Venables continues to make very odd in-game decisions. It's one thing to show your team that you have confidence in them, but it's another to do so when you know, or ought to know, that you shouldn't.

Another obvious question this game points out is, why hasn't X been playing? I gotta tell you, I was ready to ride him like Steve Owens in the 4th quarter.
I may not always be right, but I'm never wrong!

I really wanted Venables to succeed. We all did.

But I don’t think he is head coach material. There is a reason he wasn’t ever a head coach before we hired him. Some guys are great assistant coaches but don’t have what it takes to be the captain of the ship. BV is one of them.

We all wanted him to succeed. He is a good man. Just not a good head coach.

I'm not yet quite ready to pull the plug, but I'm getting there.

...I hear ya Pip! Awful discouraging to have to throw in the towel.
But think I've seen enough now.
Too many red flags.
It ain't working.
Defense is even starting to show cracks & taking water, especially the secondary.

The SOONER Ship is sinking, and breaking my heart!

Can't just whistle past the graveyard any longer.

I'm fearful of a prolonged period of losing if something doesn't change, and fast.

Curious to see if you feel the same after these last two games.
Genuinely admire your steadfastness though, felt the same until tonight, but I'm worn slick!

I think he gets one more year regardless of what I think. Yes, we should not have had the lack of talent on the o-line that we had, but there's no coach anywhere that could have survived the injuries we've had this year. I agree the red flags are there. Going "in-house" for offensive coordinator was a serious lapse in judgement. But what I'm really afraid of is that nothing fixes it but money, and that the days of finding the right coach to make the fix are more or less gone. It's all about buying the Jimmies and Joes. And lots of them.

The offense is a disaster. We should have put in MH and X in the first quarter and we would have won.

Yes why hasn’t Xavier Robinson been playing all season …..??????????

It is clear JA gets rattled and fumbles often , he can NOT be a starting QB, he really didn’t even do well against Maine or any of the other OOC games.Cut him loose and move on.

Since we cant pass just got to a 90% run game with MH and XR…. Finish the season with some dignity….

I am disgusted. We lost to a poor Missou team with their 3rd team QB starting……EMBARASSING……

Think I am done for the year. The Blake years have returned, and I thought that would never happen again. Won't watch the next two games - will probably be ugly. Hope something can get figured out this off-season to right the ship because we are way behind the SEC.

Have to agree with soonerindallas in that I'm done for the year.

Just get the season over with and go get a new offensive staff. And have them bring a decent QB with them. If we have any freshmen & redshirt freshmen worth a sh-- may as well play them now and get them SEC experience to get ready for next year. I'm usually not big on playing freshmen but what have we got to lose?
XR should start the rest of the season.
I said weeks ago to get sharp out of the way....
We've got 2 weeks to learn how to protect the ball and try to learn how to get something out of our ground game.
I feel awful for Burks.
The refs are welcoming us to the SEC but we all knew that going in. He!!, we've lived with that BS for the last 4 years in the B12...we ought to be used to it by now so move on.
Have to play to win no matter what the refs don't call.

And I thought the Big12 refs were terrible.....that SEC bunch that called last night's game had to be the worst I've seen in a long time.

OU’s vaunted defense gave up a touchdown to a HORRID backup QB with under two minutes to play.

YES, the offense is horrible! Still, with a good defense, OU wins against the MU backup QB.

In three years, the best that can be said is that the defense is decent. MOST of the improvement comes from the IDL (Bates). The corners cannot cover (MU offense was mostly jump ball passes with most caught). That defense also gave up a TD on a 3rd and goal from the 13!

The BIG reason for hiring BV is that he produced great defenses. After three years, that has not happened. And unlike Stoops, who evolved to being a HC that produced very good offenses, BV has gotten worse at that.

I now firmly believe that BV is a prime example of the Peter Principle. He has been elevated from his top level of competence to a a position that he cannot perform. ...I also now believe that Castiglione has passed his freshness date.
texsa sucks!

We all love Brent but this cannot continue. Going to lose the donors and regular fans. We don’t want to go back to where we were in the 90s.

Time to cycle on coaches until we find the right one. Don’t give massive buyout on contracts We don’t need to.

Well, I guess I'm not one of the "chief complainers" anymore.

I said after the third game that we were going to lose 7 if we didn't get an offense, and I was, basically, called a whiner by all the sunshine pumpers.

How could you NOT see this coming? It's been 4 years, and the program has a competent defense, an offense that sucks so bad that I'm surprised it hasn't been classified as a black hole by the scientific community, NIL is not NEAR where it needs to be to compete in the SEC, a jumbled coaching staff with no clear vision for the direction of the program going forward, and we're TRAPPED with a head coach who will cost us another 5 seasons if we have to buy him out.

Yeah, I'm angry, I'm disappointed, I'm disgusted and it sucks, but now that I've been proven right, I don't know what the University is going to do about it. I know this: The program needs to find an anchor and a direction and then execute it. If Joe C. isn't up to the task, (And CLEARLY, Venables isn't), then it's time to cut bait on BOTH of them, find an anchor, eat the next couple of seasons like Texass did and get back to where we belong.

Now I'm ready to be told how negative I am again. Fire away!
