YES!
...SOONERS FED ON THE PSYCHIC AND EMOTIONAL ENERGY OF THEIR CROWD!
At the end, THAT energy couldn't be contained and it spontaneously exploded onto the field!!!
Beautiful, chaotic, joyous celebration!!!
All this season's frustration swept away on a night when our University's Football Team reminded the nation who we are, reminded the SEC why we were invited to their party, and reminded ALL of US...

Looks like that spontaneous explosion cost OU $200K. The SEC decided to call the field storming two separate events since they cleared the field and it happened again. (Not that there was any way they were going to stop it after the first rush!) OU was fined $100K for each episode. Not a cheap incident, but certainly an enjoyable one for the fans. Unfortunately, Joe C. will have to open up the checkbook to pay for it.

They weren't going to stop it either time. The fans and team deserved it. The only other time I remember OU fans storming the field was 1997 when we beat Syracuse and Donovan McNabb. A similar release of pent up misery, which is likely why I recall it. Maybe the field was stormed when we beat Nebraska in 2000 - seems like it maybe. If there were others, I don't remember them, but I'm old.

yeah....after the excruciating season we've endured, this was sorely needed.pippen wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 6:13 pm They weren't going to stop it either time. The fans and team deserved it. But....
Now that we've experienced it....it does need to stop. Thankfully, that was the last game we have at the Snake Pit this year so hopefully things will subside and settle down in the off season and we can start fresh next year.
Those penalties get steep.
First offense, 100K. Second is 250K. Third and beyond is 500K. And it's going to the school you just played.

That's right. Coach Stoops didn't like it and said so. Never happened again until Sat night, but we all needed it.

I loved watching yesterday's OU-Bammer game, until all the OU fans stormed the field...and then did it a 2nd time. (bush league move)whitefeather wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 8:42 pmThat's right. Coach Stoops didn't like it and said so. Never happened again until Sat night, but we all needed it.

It’s a win-win for the SEC. They love enthusiastic fans, naturally, plus they get a revenue stream from the fines. OU will pay fines for two field stormings v Bama. One with less than 30 seconds on the game clock and another with 0:00:00.Zgeo wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 7:47 pm Sec is misguided in this
Sec should be thrilled we have enthusiastic fans
It is as if the sec commish is a purple haired Karen with no kids and 6 cats…

Seems like I remember the fans coming onto the field after the TTech "Jumpin' Around" game? I'm not sure if they stormed the field, they damn sure were Jumpin' Around to the music of House of Pain!!!

About $2.29 a head per the 85000 in attendance sgould cover it .EMan wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 5:48 pm Looks like that spontaneous explosion cost OU $200K. Look for a "storm-the-field" surcharge to your ticket prices in the future.waddy's ghost wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 5:11 amAbout $2.29 a head per the 85000 in attendance sgould cover it .EMan wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 5:48 pm Looks like that spontaneous explosion cost OU $200K.
