SEC Soccer Results in the NCAA Tourney!

Ten SEC Women's Soccer Teams qualified for the NCAA.

Here are the results for the 10 teams in their first round games (Round of 64): All second round games are on Nov 22nd (Friday).

As a #1 seed, Mississippi State won over Southern 7-0. they will face unseeded Washington in the next round.

As a #2 Seed, Arkansas won over Oklahoma State 2-0. They will now face unseeded California in the next round.

As a #3 Seed, South Carolina won over East Carolina 6-0. They will now face a #5 seed, Minnesota, in the next round.

As a #4 seed, Texas won over Boston University 4-1. They will now face a #4 seed, Michigan State, in the next round.

As a #5 seed, Kentucky won over West Virginia 1-1 on PKs. They will now face a #4 Seed, Notre Dame, in the next round.

As a #6 seed, Auburn won over FIU 4-1. They will now face a #3 seed, Ohio State, in the next round.

As a #7 seed, Georgia lost to Colorado 2-3.

As a #8 seed, Vanderbilt won over Lipscomb 4-1. They wil now face a #1 seed, Florida State, in the next round.

Unseeded Tennessee lost to a #7 seed, Virginia Tech, 1-2.

Unseeded LSU lost to a #8 seed, Texas Tech, 1-2.

Out of the the 10th thru 14th teams in the final Sec Standings, LSU was chosen by the committee to be in the NCAA Tourney with Alabama, Texas A&M, Missouri and Oklahoma left out of the tourney.

Oklahoma was 0-5-1 against SEC teams that made the tourney. Oklahoma also played FIU, Oklahoma State and Missouri State who made the NCAA Tourney with a 2-1 record against those teams.

Here are the reuslts of the NCAA Quarterfinals that were played on November 29th/30th, next Friday/Saturday:

#1 seed Duke VS #7 seed Virginia Tech (An ALL ACC Quarter) ==> Duke won 1-0 over Virginia Tech.
#2 seed North Carolina VS #4 seed Penn State ==> North Carolina won 2-1 over Penn State.
#1 seed Southern California VS #2 seed Wake Forest ==> Wake Forest wins over Southern California by 4-3 on PKs after a 2-2 tie.
#3 seed Stanford VS #4 seed Notre Dame ==> Stanford won 2-0 over Notre Dame.

The Semi-Finals are on Friday, Dec 6th:

4:00 PM --> #3 Seed, Stanford VS #2 Seed Wake Forest

6:30 PM --> #2 Seed, North Carolina VS #1 Seed, Duke

Three of the four teams remaining are from the ACC Conference.

The results of the Semi-Finals played on Friday, Dec 6th are below:

4:00 PM --> #3 Seed, Stanford VS #2 Seed Wake Forest --> Wake Forest won 1-0 with a goal in the 73rd minute as they defeat Stanford.
6:30 PM --> #2 Seed, North Carolina VS #1 Seed, Duke --> North Carolina scored twice in the 1st half and once in the 2nd half to win 3-0 over Duke.

The Finals will be an ALL-ACC Final on Monday Night at 6 PM CST.

#2 Seed - Wake Forest (16-3-4) vs #2 Seed North Carolina (21-5)

The two teams played in the regular season in the first match for both teams in ACC play. North Carolina won the home match 1-0 with a goal in the 27th minute.

The Finals were the same results as it was in the regular season between the two teams. North Carolina won 1-0 over Wake Forest with a goal in the 62nd minute of the match.

Congratulations to the Tar Heels on their Championship!
