Great news on Mateer & starting to restock the WR room.

Like the Stanford OT. He may not be the day 1 starter at RT, but I think he would be an improvement over Brown/Tarquin as the backup/swing OT. If I read correclty, there's another OT on campus from Georgia Tech.

REALLY hoping we starting seeing some names & hearing some rumors about Tight End visitors or potential commitments.

Apparently the GT OT decided to sign with Arkansas and cancelled his visit to Norman. We did however, sign Western Carolina OL Derek Simmons today.

He's 6'6, 325. Baklenko (the kid from Stanford) is 6'6, 305. The WR tranfers are 6'2, 190 and 6'3, 205. Even the punter is 6'5, 205.

It sure seems like OU is making a very deliberate attempt to get bigger guys in the portal. Bigger isn't always better, but if you're competing against size in the SEC, you have to match up.

yes. and the lesser known receivers are not going to break the bank either. But I'd spend some bucks wherever we need to on the OLine.

For those of you complaining that OU is not signing any SEC receivers .. as of an a couple of hours ago OU signed WR Isaiah Sategna from Arkansas. He's only 5'11" but is fast and was very productive IN THE SEC. So there 1 QB, 3 WR, 2 OL and a kicker. Pretty sure OU has the #1 Portal class. Hopefully Damonic Williams Stays and BV can pick up a few defensive players ...

Saw a story this morning that said Baker Mayfield called Mateer and encouraged him to come to OU. I guess the next day is when Mateer committed. I guess having a Heisman QB call you gets your attention. Thanks Baker!!

Not sure about Tech .. one thing I've noticed , much like regular lamestreet media, Sports driven Lamestreet media seems to have an agenda too. I've seen A BUNCH of negative OU stuff and praises for other programs ( HTF does Tenn lose to Arky ?? ) that I do not think deserve it. Face it if OU doesn't have the injuries , it's a 10-2, 11-1 type team and probably in the play offs. I know what OU signed, the most important position on the field, QB. They also have added and are adding players around him. Heck, Bama might sign some div 2 receiver and the 'media' would act like it's the most important portal acquisition of all time.

Now that Jaquaize Pettaway has signed and will transfer to East Carolina University, that leaves only 1 unsigned WR (Jalil Farooq) from Team 130 of all those that entered the Portal.

I haven't seen or heard of any offers that may have been made to him so far. I wonder if he may be considering entering the NFL draft?

On a side note, I wonder how many more Portal entries there will be after the first round of the CFP?

I think Maybe thats why we haven't seen more portal adds by OU .. they maybe waiting to see what happens after the CFP as well. It looks like Damonic Williams is playing in the bowl game.. Hopefully that means he's coming back.

Hey as of today any OU player that leaves from here out will be because he can,t compete with what we have now.With the Offensive
staff in place that any player wound love to play for. Not a make shift staff we ended up with after Lebby leaving. It was horrible timing with sighing date coming on. Brett was in between a rock & a hard place. Your a week before signing a offensive recruiting
Class with out a OC. Seff Litrell should have been a temporary OC. But everyone makes mistakes in life. If we don,t we learn nothing!
That water under the bridge. As I always have said, ( good ALWAYs come from bad, in the end). This years been as painful as any since John Blake. But look at the good that came from John’s hire. Two years later we won a NC. I think this year may prove just as
good of future for the SOONERS!

JF is signing with Maryland. Makes sense as that is his home.
