I dunno. I understood the decision. Our defense was not stellar today and was likely, as usual, worn out. I didn't understand not going up 17-0 ('course there was no guarantee) or going for 4th down in our own territory. The latter qualifies as abominable. It changed the game.

Hey guys this was a depleted Sooner teams from the Portal to the injured missing talent. I did not expect much today. Next year
We have a new offense top notch QB in Mateer & a much improved back up QB in Mike Hawkins. The OL looked much improved
today. We also pick up some good receivers. Lots to look forward to. Arbuckle had only two weeks to work with Mike Hawkins &
my what a difference. This game meant nothing. It could have been a lot different with out all the dropped passes, & penalties.
No next year will be worth looking forword to plus we get some body back at running back we have been missing. What can we
expect in todays game. 🪰

Arbuckle will need to be BV’s savior. We all want him to succeed but I just don’t think BV is a head coach. Hope he proves me wrong!

If he was meant to be BVs savior he would have let Arbuckle pick his own staff. Just making the same mistakes over and over again.

We win it in OT? Based on what? We certainly didn't move the ball with any regularity after the first quarter once JJF changed up the tempo and play calling. The only consistency we showed in this game or for that matter that we've shown this year, has been inconsistency. I'm not confident we could have driven 25 yards for a TD in the 1st OT had we tied the game. We were looking at 4th and 17 instead of 1st and 10 in the red zone without that penalty. Once again, we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I am disgusted with these coaches from Venables on down

This game was set up for OU and served in a silver platter. Navy QB had a terrible day passing, OU got an early lead and at that point controlled both field position and momentum.

Then Venables decided to give away both field position and momentum in one stupid decision. We didn’t need to take chance with :a lead, field position, momentum. Venables decided to risk all of that on a play that already failed earlier….

Then RBs can not catch, some WR can not catch. If Hawkins had just run more we would have won

I probably will give Arbuckle a chance to show these coaches what it takes to win but he is going to have to do it on his own

Just got back from. An hour outside in the fresh air. Came back in and saw the same dumb calls, qb running length of field, dropping run game and strange 2 pt call.

...an old Army buddy texted me after the game..."You beat Alabama, but lose to Navy? You're starting to remind me of Nebraska. You change conferences and fall into medocrity!"

Two of Venables 3 seasons at OU, his team has finished 6-7. His W-L record vs. the Top 25 is 14=16.
His teams seem to find a way to lose games they could have won.
OKLAHOMA is hands down a better team than Navy. Bigger, faster, stronger.
They were up 14-0 in the first quarter, but from then on their effort seemed to come only in spurts.
They seem to lack the will to finish, to stab the dagger through the heart of their opponent.
I'm not just disappointed, I'm dismayed.
Something ain't right.
It starts and finishes at the top.
Ultimately, BRENT VENABLES IS RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYTHING.
He's paid quite handsomely to be responsible.
And right now today, his tenure looks more & more like a failure.

He & hIs staff have one last chance next Fall to right the ship.
I'm certainly pulling for them...but my doubts are beginning to tip the scales.

To go for the deuce was the right call. Why folks think OU had the advantage in an OT, I do not understand. Take the shot then and end it one way or the other. It was a miracle we got the TD to begin with.

Bad teams find ways to lose. I didn’t mind the decision to go for two at the end.

I did mind the decision not to attempt a 37 yard fg that would have made it 17-0…and going for it on our own side of the 50 up 14-0…and X Robinson, our best back in the last 3 games barely getting to play at all in the 2nd half…and the fact that these young wide receivers (except Carreon) can’t catch the ball even though they’ve been playing most of the season…and an offensive line that can’t get any push against an undersized G5 defensive line…and the defense giving up yet another long 4th quarter scoring drive to the opponent…etc.

I’m glad we have Arbuckle and Mateer but they can’t fix every issue with this team.

I was hoping for some turnover as well, and that Arbuckle would be allowed to bring in who he wanted. We'll see what happens, but I suspect that short of instant and abundant success next year that BV is going to be on the hot seat.

I've stated such in other threads. You can find, and read what I said there. I'm not going to spoon feed it to you.

All you have been doing on here today is acting like a petulant child. It is tiresome and you need to give it a rest.
