The 2025 Edition of the Oklahoma Sooners Women's Tennis Team plys this weekend in the ITA Kickoff event in Berkeley, CA for the ITA Kickoff Week. The 17th-ranked Sooners will face San Diego State on Friday at 4 PM CST. On the other side of the 4-team bracket in Berkeley, CA is Cal (Ranked #14) and Grand Canyon who also play on Friday.

The two winners play on Saturday at 3 PM. The winner of that match move on to the next round of the ITA Tourneys in two weeks. The two losing teams will play at Noon CST on Saturday.

Here is the article about the ITA Kickoff Week written by the OU Athletics Communications group.

The Sooner Women's Team has strong depth on the Team this Spring. I am confident that Julia Garcia Ruia, Ailana Shcherbininia, Salakthip Ounmuang, Gloria Nahum willbe 4 of the 6 players to play singles. The two remaining spots wil go to two of Chloe Noel, Emma Straker or Ava Catanzarite with Cara Mester being considered possibly.

In Doubles, the Sooners will likely send out Ailana Shcherbinia and Cara Mester to play in one match with Julia Garcia Ruia teaming with one of Chloe Noel or Salakthip Ounmuang and then Gloria Nahum will probably play with the other between Noel and Ounmuang. Roisin Gilheany has also has sucess in doubles for the Sooners but she has not played that I have seen this Spring.

Good luck to the Sooners today in Berkeley against the Aztecs of San Diego State.
