Alyssa gets to be the OU player with the 1st home run in the new stadium (let's ignore the 2 from Miami OH players earlier). Remember for future trivia!Game 1 in Love's Field - OU 9 - Miami OH 7 FINAL

End the bottom of the 5th with a runner on 2nd (Bland), but we got the HR to tie things up. Moving to the top of the 6th tied 3-3

Keeney's as hot as May was cold.
According to Plank and Sanchez, the ump has a rough time re strikes and balls.

Agree with this - Keeney has taken control up until now (although she just walked a batter there). I think there is some issues with the strike zone but I do think it is going both for us and against us - so at least it is consistent. Not sure what it is with May. Even Erin Miller said by this point in the season she should have better control on the balls she was throwing.

Ludlam drives in a go-ahead run, and then Coleman gets a 2 run homer, so we're up 6-3. Then, Pickering homers and we're up 7-3.

HRs are starting to rain. After we get a runner on, Jayda hits a 2 run bomb followed immediately by Pickering hitting a bomb.
Still bottom of the 6th with 1 out - OU 7-3

We left one on in the bottom of the 6th but scored 4 runs. Going to the last inning 7-3. I wasn't a fan of the lineup but it has produced when it needed to and I think just about every player (non pitcher) has seen the field.

Seriously - you have to hand it Miami OH - they can blast them. We are in the top of the 7th. 1 out, 1 runner on second. We need a quick double-play and end this and get an HR of our own.

Okay, Geurin gets enough outs, quickly enough to prevent further scoring. Bottom of 7th Boone gets a hit to get on, then Hansen gets a 2 run blast to go up by 2 and end the game...Whew!

SJ came in to pitch in the top of the 7h with no outs and MIami OH jacking HRs to tie it up. SJ gets the 3 outs without any runs and we go to the bottom of the 7th with Boone hitting a single, then Hansen hitting a 2 run walk off bomb.
OU wins 9-7. I can't say enough for the resilience of this team. The hoopla of the new field took a massive toll and these girls just refused to lose.
