I seem to recall Plank making a comment about her having to beg off being on his Sunday night radio show because she was recruiting up in Kansas City.
He was kind of laughing and joking about it on his Monday morning show so I didn't know whether to take that with a grain of salt or not.

You're follow up gives me new hope now.

It could be a catcher, Krolczyk, SE LA or Emerling, NC.
While we're on the subject of SELA.....Do you have any follow-up on Cera Blanchard? I think it may have hit a snag.......

I do not. For me, we need a couple of RH pitchers even if a certain RH pitcher from the trees arrives. We would need one more. I do like Blanchard enough to say, "C'mon down"!

But my word means very, very little.

The reason I asked was two-fold--
1) there was discussion last night regarding whether she would be allowed to transfer to a D1 school after being in JUCO prior to her going to SELA. Transferring to D2 or D3 would be ok apparently....
Here is the Brady Vernon link for that question:

2) there also was question regarding her eligibility.....it appears that she entered college in 2021 and this last year was her senior year, so there was a question of whether she even had any eligibility left to transfer with anyway?

Was just wondering if you had heard any scuttlebutt about any of those things.

She is listed as a grad student by Softball America. Does that help?

Gives me hope, but Brady is Softball America, so I still have concern.

But I'm sure the OU Compliance Dept is all over this....so I'll move on.

I have seen several pics of her signing and I find it a bit strange that she is wearing a fielding glove in each picture. I would say if a player plays catcher, she or he will want to wear a catchers glove in something as important as a signing picture.

I wonder if this tells us something very subtly.

Could it be that a fielder's glove was the only "prop" they had handy at the moment of signing?

"Hey, I have an idea - she should sign with a glove on her hand! Hay, grab that glove and put it on first! That will look really cool!"

Achim's Razor kind of stuff...?

I guess the OU media folks that put all these "photo shoots" might not have been fully prepared for the session with Emerling. Well, if that is true, I would think they will be next time.

Her bio says she also plays 1B and Infield and started games at 1B, so the glove they used isn't really out of place. I wonder if that is foretelling of what how the coaches are thinking of using her, with catching maybe as just a backup?

yeah, and unless you're a pitcher....you HAVE to play multiple positions proficiently and error free.

Has anyone heard about the rehabilitation of Jordy Bahl? Is her knee fully healed, and how far along has she progressed to be able to regain full pitching prowess?

About two weeks ago she was beginning to softly from a side stance to a target. Just take the ball out of the glove and soft toss.

She is still lifting weights like a football player and is working on flexibility in her left landing leg . She said she is about 85% of what she needs if I rember right.

4 months after her injury, that is very good I think. Without any setback, she should be fine by Feb.
