M & W Cross Country Teams in Stillwater - Saturday

Post by OUBeliever56A »

Here is a post that I am copying from a knowledgeable cross country poster from another location. I appreciate his allowance to me to use his work.

Getting close to the end of the season for Cross Country as we are in the "Pre-Nationals" segment of the season.

The OU Men and Women teams are heading up to Stillwater on October 15th for the Weis-Crockett Invitational.

It's huge to get to this meet since this is were the NCAA Cross Country National Championship Meet is hosted.

Both teams have a TON of work to do if they want to make Nationals as a squad instead of an individual or two.

The site I found gives us the team participants with their ranking, the race routes, and the times. The Men's team will run the 8k and the Women's team will run the 6k

Again, OU has a chance to make a splash. But they need to give their "Brayden Willis effort" moving forward if they want to make Nationals as a squad.

Here are the times from the Men's Team (8K):
Colin Caso - 24:15
Antonio Florcruz - 24:51.88
Fernando Morales - 25:09.5
Anass Mghari - 25:36.42
Thomas Knepshield - 25:59.5
Logan Seger - 25:27.07
Jordan Gledhill - 26:31.99

Here are the times from the Women's Team (6K):
Jordan Kaplan - 22:12.80
Serra Williams - 22:23.80
Erin O'Brien - 22:25.90
Gabi Barrera - 22:29.00
Madeline Medina - 22:37.20
Nicole Clifford - 23:08.00
Tarryn Lowry - 23:29.30
Else Welch - 24:36.20

OU has a chance to have a good showing (I've said this 3 meets now). The women's team took advantage last meet. Let's see if they can grow on it and get the ball rolling. The Mens team needs to do the same.

You can follow along the live results here.

Here is the staff writers article about the Men's and Women's Cross Country meet in Stillwater on Saturday. The Women finished in 23rd while the Men's team had 4 runners compete so they did not post a men's score.

Their next meet is October 28th in the Big 12 Championships in Lubbock, TX.
