Bottom post of the previous page:

I think there is a magic date to equalize the differing school schedules. But yes, as soon as they start there junior year (some date).

Sept 1st is the correct date.

SoonerSB98, Can't thank you enough for posting this, but I am curious as to how you were able to take the pic? Were you actually at the camp? With a family member, or friends?

Bordi is for certain high on my "WANT" list, but Hannah Wells could very well be the next Jordi Bahl, IMO. I sure hope that OU can land her! I believe that I read upthread that the earliest that she might commit would be September 1 of this year.

Hannah Wells is very high on my want list that I'm working on too. Plus a few others. I'll try to throw something up on the board in a couple of days for y'all to throw darts at. Ha!

Coach Gasso also held an Elite 50 softball camp out in Cali this last Sunday from 9-2 at Los Alamitos High School.
A lot of top names were there in 25s 26s etc.
I don't have twitter but I saw a twitter pic on another site with this information. If you are a twitter follower, you can probably access more information.

OU Softball - Class of 2025 – Top Recruits - Final Thoughts - August 21st

Here is a list of the Class of 2025 Softball recruits that are highly ranked. I have been able to verify that most are players who have been to OU Showcase Camps or on teams that the Sooners are watching players on their summer teams. It is entirely possible that some players that I have not noted for being at OU Camps, did attend OU camps that I am not aware of.
The first number for each player is the average of the last two years rankings from Softball America (SA) and Extra Innings Softball (EIS). To the right of the players name is the individual rankings for their four rankings the last two years.

In their most recent rankings, EIS has admitted that their database had some errors in the way that their rankings were compiled. You will see some (*unr) notes in 2023 by SA. I think it is obvious that these are players that the database mishandled. (It is hard to believe that their rankings were not double-checked enough to find these top players that were missed.) For these players, I tossed their ‘unr’ status and did not include that year's ranking in their average ranking.

SA ranked only 25 players in May of 2022 and only 50 players in August of 2023. Some players might have been ranked higher than those levels in 2022 and 2023. I could not judge that, however. But I noted it with a (#unr).

This list includes any player that has been ranked 1 -25 in 2023 in either SA or EIS. Where the word “Watch” starts the row, it indicates a player that I think is being recruited seriously by OU.

Pitchers:
4.5 - Kaylee Grace Favors RHP – SA #4 (2023) #2 (2022), EIS #10 (2023) #2 (2022) - OU Camps - Birmingham Thunderbolts - Kemp
Watch - 7.5 – Hannah Wells RHP/UT – SA #1 (2023) #1 (2022), EIS *unr (2023) #14 (2022) - OU Camps - Oklahoma Athletics - Madden/Clemmer
7.5 – Addison Linton LHP – SA #9 (2023) #3 (2022), EIS *unr (2023) #9 (2022) - OU Camps - Virginia Unity
Watch - 8.25 - Sophia Bordi RHP/1B – SA #3 (2023) #8 (2022), EIS #3 (2023) #19 (2022)- OU Camps - OC Batbusters - Stith
9.0 – Keira Crosby RHP – SA #7 (2023) #6 (2022), EIS #14 (2023) #9 (2022) - Hotshots National 16U - Nelson

Watch - 26.125 – Allyssa Parker RHP/MIF – SA #25 (2023) #unr (2022), EIS #23 (2023) #31.5 (2022) – OU Camps - Aces Fastpitch 18U - Taylor
26.5 – Ansley Bennett RHP/UT – SA #29 (2023) #unr (2022), EIS #16 (2023) #32 (2022) - Lady Lightning Gold DPS - Corn
28.25 - Mallie West LHP/UT – SA #32 (2023) #unr (2022), EIS #7 (2023) #42 (2022) - Hotshots National - Jones

Catchers and Corner IF:
Watch - 7.75 – Anna Hinde C/3B – SA #16 (2023) #9 (2022, EIS #2 (2023) #4 (2022) – OU Camps - Team NC - Hinde

Watch - 17.125 – Delaney Aumua 1B – SA #11 (2023) #23 (2022), EIS #21 (2023) #14 (2022) – OU Camps - Lady Magic 16U - Walling

???? - Elsa Morrison C - The only rankings for Morrison was by EIS for 2023 at #8. - She plays for the Texas Bombers Gold 18U - Smith. It is very odd to me that I could not find here in the other three rankings at all.
- - -

Middle Infielders (INF):
9.0 – Jolyna Lamar MIF – SA #9 (2023) #3 (2022), EIS *unr (2023) #9 (2022) – Copies Sooner coaches on social media.
Watch - 10.5 – Mataia Lawson MIF – SA 13 (2023) #4 (2022), EIS #6 (2023) #19 (2022) – OU Camps - Iowa Premier 16U - Dickel

- - -

I think the Class of 2025 Recruiting push for Oklahoma has boiled down now to about 6-9 players. Those IMO might be:

Pitcher - Sophia Bordi RHP/1B
Pitcher - Pressley Harrison RHP/1B
Pitcher - Berkley Zache RHP/1B
Pitcher - Allyssa Parker RHP/MIF
Pitcher - Hannah Wells RHP/UT

If the Sooners could pick up 2 of these pitchers for the 2025 Class, the Sooners would be ready for the next four years built around the two of them. All five can hit as well, which we might start to see more of at OU. Harrison and Parker might even be able to be position players for OU.

Infield - Lexi McDaniel
Outfield - Kia Minor
Catcher/3B - Anna Hinde, Kendal Wells (just one of these players)
Infield - Mataia Lawson

If the Sooners could pick up 2 of these players, the build out from the 2023, and 2024 classes would be very strong.

The September 1st date for Coaches to be able to contact and make offers to players is about 9 days away. I wonder who is on the call list first for OU.

I think the Sooners will pick up 3, 4 or maybe 5 players in the Class.

Boomer Sooner!

[Edit: I mistakenly referenced Lexi McDaniel as Lexi McDonald twice in the above post. My bad. I have corrected this now.]

Thank you for putting this list together, great work! The EIS ranking issue is unfortunate, and it shows how much further softball recruiting services needs to go to be a serious business.

Thank you so much for putting this list together. I understand how much work is involved in gathering all this data.
And I agree with your assessment about a couple of pitchers and at least a couple of position players. I agree about Minor, but if she somehow doesn't turn up, I wouldn't be surprised if Roman did.
I appreciate all that you do for us and this board.
Well done!

Wow '56, I just glanced at the 247 board follow through on your post and that place is getting to be worse than Robo.
I wish ST, Doc, Big Red and a few others would migrate over to this board.
I'm glad they cut me off over there.....don't think I'd care about posting over there anymore.

"The Defier' is just a pain. I seems like "ouflyguy' and 'Ireallyloveou" have been improved posters for a while now. I guess it is taking 'The Defier' a little longer o rmayb he is just trying to be important in his own mind.

Perhaps so, you know that crowd better than I do. I tip my hat to you for taking the high road anyway.
But i still wish some of those better posters like I mentioned above would try this site out for awhile. I miss being able to comment on their comments. I'd send them a PM to invite them over but I have no way of contacting them.
Oh well.
