To almost no one's surprise, the Oklahoma Women's Gymnastics Team remains the country's #1 college gymnastics team. In gymnastics, it is unusual as they are able to calculate the average event score for each team to determine the order of teams. It amounts to a very true indication of the team's strength. Here is the staff writers article about the newest standings.

The three scores for the Sooners in 2023 are 197.925, 197.600 and 197.925.
As the article points out, the Sooners are in the Top 4 of each of the 4 gymnastic event in a meet/dual.
To me, it is amazing that for the second year in a row that the Sooners have added a top gymnasts to the core performers that is a freshman. It was Jordan Bowers last season and it is Faith Torrez this year. The Sooners won the national championships n 2019, there was not championship held in 2020 and the Sooners were runners up in 2021. Adding a freshman to the performing team two years in a row shows the recruiting effort and quality. Great Job coach Kindler.
