Oklahoma Women's Gymnastics back to Denton, TX for Dual with TWU

The Sooners Women's Gymnastics Team returns to the Lone Star State this Sunday for their last road meet in February. OU will face Texas Woman's University at 2 p.m. CT inside Kitty Magee Arena in Denton, Texas.

The Oklahoma Sooner Women's Gymnastics Team performed well once again as they posted another 198+ score of 198.325. They defeated TWU in the dual meet by 2.250 as TWU scored a solid 195.075.

OU scored 49.650 to open the meet on the Bars. Aubrey Davis scored a 9.975 with one judge awarding a 10. OU had 4 scores of 9.900 or better.

The Sooners scored 49.500 on the Vault in the second rotation. Davis again led the Sooners with a 9.950. OU had 4 scores of 9.900 or better.

On the Floor, Oklahoma scored a 49.500. Faith Torrez led the Sooners with a 9.950 routine. OU had 3 scores of 9.900 or better.

On the final event, the Beam, the Sooners closed the night with a 49.675 on the event. Bowers led the Sooners with a 9.975 with a 10 from one judge.

Bowers was the only Sooners to compete on all devices with a 39.500 All-Around score.

Eleven Sooner participated in the four events yesterday showing strong depth as a team also.

Oklahoma kicks off a two-week home stretch starting Friday against West Virginia at 6:45 p.m. CT. The party continues the following Friday, March 3 against No. 2 Florida at 7:45 p.m. in a highly anticipated matchup of two of last year's NCAA Championships squads. The Sooners posted no highlight videos from this meet on social media (well, Twitter is the only one I follow). This is unusual, as they usually post significant clips from several of the performances. No idea why. Hoping for a longer highlight video today.
