Sooner Men's Basketball host Texas Tech on Tuesday at 8 PM - LNC

Post by OUBeliever56A »

It what has become an important game for the Sooners, the Oklahoma Men's Basketball Team hosts Texas Tech on Tuesday night in LNC at 8 PM in a game that help move the Sooners out of last place in the conference. Currently, Texas Tech and WV are tied for 8th spot ne game ahead of the Sooners. A win over the Red Raiders at home would allow the Sooners to sweep Texas Tech in the season series which could be an important tie-breaker if needed.

Tuesday's game against the Red Raiders will be broadcast on ESPN2 with Mark Neely and Jess Settles on the call. Fans may also listen on the Sooner Sports Radio Network (KRXO 107.7 FM The Franchise in Oklahoma City; KTBZ 1430 AM in Tulsa; Varsity Radio App) with Toby Rowland and Kevin Henry announcing.

Here is the staff wrtiers article about the game. You can select the game story here:

To me, the game is going to largely be about the Sooner big men handling the Tech bigs and not being over-powered inside. While the Sooners concentrate on the paint, they also have to control and minimize the scoring of the guards who can have big games at times. Ex-Sooner Harmon is a good outside player that needs to be marked on defense.

The Sooners have played well the last two games and need one more strong game on Tuesday. As always, it is important for Sherfield to score, Uzan needs to handle the ball and distribute the ball while scoring enough to make a difference while playing strong defense. Jalen Hill needs to continue his good play and stretch his game to score while he is playing great defense. T Groves and Godman need to be strong inside on defense and minimize offensive rebounds by Tech as well as score on offense to keep the defense honest. Between Oweh, Cortes, Nolan and J Groves, someone needs to step up and provide a spark on the floor to get OU over the top for the win.

It should be easy. HA!

There are no easy wins in the Big 12. OU has to play well to win. Hopefully the Sooners shot well and the game will take of itself inside.

Good luck to the Sooners.

Boomer Sooner!
