Oklahoma Women's Gymnastics: Ready to Compete for Big 12 Title !

Post by OUBeliever56A »

The Oklahoma Sooner Women's Gymnastics Team is in Morgantown, WV for the Big 12 Women's Gymnastics Meet. along with OU, three other teams will be there to compete with the #1 Sooners!. #13 Denver, Iowa State and West Virginia will make up the Big 12 Tourney.

The Championships are on Saturday at 6 p.m. CT inside WVU Coliseum. The meet will air live on ESPNU with John Roethlisberger (play-by-play), Bridget Sloan (analyst) and Taylor Davis (floor reporter) as on-air personalities.

Here is the staff writers article about Saturday's Big 12 Championships.

I listen to Coach KJ Kindler yesterday, I think, on the Plack Show and I believe she said that the Sooners will start their night on the Floor Exercise the way the rotations are laid out. that could be a tough place to start for the Sooners, In a typical rotation, they would then move to the Beam, I think. then the final two roattions will be the Bars, then the Vault. But maybe the rotation will just be around the circuit and go Floor, Vault, Bars and then Beam.

The Sooners will be shooting for 49.600+ on each event as a team. With that the team should be set for a 198+ score. Let's see some 10's on Saturday!

Good luck to the Women on Saturday.

It’s a 4 team event - I think they normally go in competition order (vault, bars, beam, floor), so Sooners will end on beam. Just like last years national championship.

The #1 Oklahoma Sooner Women's Gymnastics Team traveled to Morgantown, WV this weekend with one goal, one goal only. TO WIN! The certainly did that and they did in superlative fashion. The Sooner score of 198.400 is just another great score in a long run of 198+ team scores this season for KJ Kindler's squad in 2023. The Sooners scored and unbelieveable score on the Beam of 49.800! That is 0.200 away from perfection. The Sooners 'counted' scores of 10.000, 9.975, 9.950, 9.950 and 9.925 on the Beam. Reagan Smith received the 10.000.

The Sooners were almost equally as good on the other three events with a 49.625 on the Bars, a 49.575 on the Floor and 49.500 on the Vault.

Here is the staff writers article about the Sooners fantastic performance Saturday evening.

The Sooners won their 10th conference title in the last 11 years.

These young women are simple great led by Coach KJ Kindler!

The road to the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, will make a journey through Norman and Lloyd Noble Center in 2023. OU is one of four NCAA Regional host sites this season, meaning the Sooners will have a home-floor advantage during the three-day regional competition. This will mark the fifth time since 2011 for the Sooners to host a regional (also in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2022). OU has won all four regional championships held at the LNC.

The NCAA Norman Regional will be held March 29-April 1 and all-session tickets are on sale now for as low as $10 for each of the three sessions. The teams will be announced during the NCAA selection show on Monday at 11 a.m. CT.

That beam score is incredible. Regan got the 10 from all 4 judges, but Jordan Bowers had 1 10 and Faith Torres had 2 10’s. Sooner Magic.

Only downer of the night - the Sooners were docked 0.100 for “batting out of order” on bars.

You might recheck the Meet Results you are looking at. It might be the Big 12 Championships.

You’re right - in this thread about the big 12 championships, I posted (last week) about the beam score from the big 12 championship? Did you think this was about last night? Confused.
