Oklahoma Women's Rowing @ Austin for Big 12 Championships Sunday

The improving Oklahoma Women's Rowing Team is at the Big 12 Championships today in Austin, TX. Sunday's regatta will be held on Lake Walter E. Long starting at 8:30 a.m. CT. Oklahoma has six boats slated for the championship and will hit the water sequentially, concluding with the awards presentation.

The Sooners are joined in Austin by fellow conference members Kansas, Kansas State, No. 2 Texas, West Virginia and conference affiliate programs Alabama and Tennessee.

The entire slate of events will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

The Oklahoma Women's Rowing Team finished in fourth place overall and had two crews finish fourth in their race in the Big 12 Championships on Sunday in Austin, TX.

After a tight race against conference affiliate Tennessee, the 1V8+ fought till the last stroke and clinched fourth. The 2V8+ followed suit and secured fourth place in their race after notching their fastest time of the season. The squads for the 1V4+, 2V4+ and 3V8+ all placed sixth in their respective races. Seven teams competed in the Big 12 Championships.

Lale Edil and Andjela Nisevic earned All-Big honors on Sunday morning. Both Edil and Nisevic picked up their first career All-Big 12 awards. Edil, a junior from Arcadia, Okla. and Nisevic, a senior from Belgrade, Serbia both compete in the first varsity eight.

Congrats to the Sooners on their fourth pace finish. Texas was first, with Tennessee finishing second and Alabama finishing 3rd.
