My response to that horrible blocking the plate call, in the name of player saftey all scholastic & pro sports should be baned in the name
of player saftey.
The cult of saftey often makes sports hard to watch. :smokingmad:

That was a bad call and a bad review in my opinion. I don't see how it's blocking when the catcher has the ball before the baserunner reaches the plate.

OSU starts Kilfoyl instead of Maxwell. Interesting

Noles are SOLID! Lonnie is a very good coach. We will have to hit that drop ball regularly!
Here's highlights from FSU-UGA:

Wynne hits a 3 run homer and OSU opens up a 7-1 lead over the Ducks in the bottom of the 5th.

I must admit - I thought Oregon would challenge OSU. Perhaps OSU is back to their early season form and may storm into the WCWS.

I was definitely pulling for Missy's Quackers, but it does sorta look like those girls from the stool have amped up their game.

What baffled me about the interference call at home plate in the FSU - GA game was that the throw to home plate lead the catcher into the baseline. To catch the ball, the GA catcher had to move from a 'legal' position into the baseline to make the catch. Then she clearly caught the ball before the sliding runner got there.

It is no different than a fielder moving in front of a runner to field a ball or a 1st baseperson stepping into the baseline to catch a throw.

The desire to protect a runner/catcher is getting in the way of some common baseball sense.

Duke started their freshman pitcher and the Blue Devils came prepared to win a Super Regional. Stanford on the other hand looks like the moment is way too big for them!

Duke leads 1-0 in the middle of the 2nd.
