OU vs Central Florida - Pick the Score Contest
The only thing better than beating Texas in the Cotton Bowl is beating them and then having a bye week so that you have 2 weeks to savor the victory before moving on. (Who am I kidding - we savor that victory all year long!) In our Pick the Score contest, Fly also had 2 weeks to savor his victory, which is only fitting, seeing as he is the first 2X winner this year. As a reminder, here are the each of the weekly winners so far:
Week 1: Triple Option 77-0; actual score 73-0
Week 2: Fly 38-10; actual score 28-11
Week 3: Walt 63-13, actual score 66-17
Week 4: Charliedontsurf 24-15; actual score 20-6
Week 5: KySooner 48-10, Wishbone 45-13, actual score 50-20.
Week 6: Fly 34-31; actual score 34-30
The Sooners' game 7 comes against another of the new Big 12 teams (which maybe not surprisingly make up the bottom 5 of the conference standings). Although UCF was top ranked of the newcomers in the conference preseason poll, they are currently winless in conference, and I don't see that changing after this Saturday. BV has definitely affected a culture change in Norman, and it certainly appears that the whole team is focused on going 1-0 every week. Although UCF brings the nations #4 offense (by yards/game) into their match with the Sooners, they also bring the 82nd ranked defense. As a matter of fact, in their first 3 conference games, they've allowed an average of almost 44 points a game. While the Sooners defense doesn't look as dominant from a yardage standpoint, they are stopping people where it matters most: on the scoreboard. That said, the Sooners will do well to keep UCF under 20. But if the Sooners are on their game, they should easily top 40. This game may tell us a lot about how focused this team is. The Sooners of course, will win. And for the 7th game in a row, they cover. This week I see it as
