Sometimes you have to look at things to realize what you might have forgotten or what is not appeciated.
After their first 33 games, the Sooners are 31-2 and are tied for the best record in D1 Softball with LSU and Oregon is behind at 31-3. I think everyone else has at least 5 losses.
I looked back at OU's record to see how they were:
2024 --> 32-1 ---> finished 27-6 for their 59-7 record
2023 --> 32-1 ---> finished 29-0 for their 61-1 record - From the Baylor loss in '23 in the 2nd weekend, the Sooners won 71-straight until Louisiana beat them in Love's Field in '24.
2022 --> 33-0 ---> finished 26-3 for their 59-3 record
2021 --> 33-0 ---> finished 23-4 for their 56-4 record
2019 --> 31-2 ---> finished 26-4 for their 57-6 record
2018 --> 31-2 ---> finished 26-3 for their 57-5 record
2017 --> 26-7 ---> finished 35-2 for their 61-9 record
I am a little bit surprised that is has been since the 2017 season that the Sooners have had more than 2 losses in their first 33 games. That is getting out the gate very well.
I am surprisd to see that the Sooners have only lost more than 4 games, one time, as they finished their last 7 seasons and that was last year in 2024 on their way to a 4th-straight Natty.
We will see how the Sooners finish 2025. In the last 7 seasons, they have lost an average of just over 3 losses a season. It that holds up..... I think there will be some additional hardware showing up in Norman in June.
In a closing note, I will add that the last time the Sooners lost double-digit games was 2014 when the Sooners were 51-13. That is nine years of full seasons that the Sooners have lost 9 games or less.
We are just so lucky to be fans of this program. AND very, very spoiled.

Thanks again, Believer, for the Context of this year versus the past. OUSB isn't doing too bad in comparison, eh? Especially with a team that does not include most of the players that created those same amazing stats.
You've opened my eyes to something important, especially with OUSB this year: Context. In the Wild West of social media where anyone can claim anything for any reason without accountability, it is a breath of fresh air to read facts from credible sources to back up claims.
Thank you!
