In the meantime, while we are certainly rootin' for the lady softballers, the #9 ranked OU lady cagers play the #5 ranked Lady Horns tonight (Thursday) at 8pm!

This IS the softball forum so I restrict my posts here to softball .BudaSooner wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2025 2:07 pm In the meantime, while we are certainly rootin' for the lady softballers, the #9 ranked OU lady cagers play the #5 ranked Lady Horns tonight (Thursday) at 8pm!

I wonder who will be in the starting lineup. We've already seen that Nellymac will be the 3rd baseman, but I haven't seen nor heard of any other starters mentioned.

Here is my guess:
C - Emerling about 65% of the time. Hicks about 35% of the time withher time being inceased later in the year.
1B - Sanders
2B - Agbayani
SS - Barker, but Garcia is not far behind.
3B - NellieMac
LF - Pickering
CF - Dayton
RF - Bland and Milloy could share the job in the pre-SEC games. About 25% of the time maybe Parker plays RF. At some point one of them wins the job. Coor is perhaps not far behind them.
DP - Parker 65% - Emerling 25% of the time. Someone else about 10% of the time. (McKay maybe.)
Batting Order:
1. Agbayani LH
2. Dayton LH (It is posssible that Dayton bats 9th and #3 thru #9 move up a spot in the order.)
3. Parker LH
4. NellyMac RH
5. Pickering LH
6. Sanders RH
7. Emerling RH
8. RF (Bland LH - Milloy LH - Hicks RH
9. Barker RH

Besides Patty, Jenn and JT, 4 players were 4-Peat NC's. They might all be the only ones to be able to say that during their lifetimes.

I think there were 5 players - Boone, Hansen, Jennings, Coleman and May.inconnu wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 8:19 pm Besides Patty, Jenn and JT, 4 players were 4-Peat NC's. They might all be the only ones to be able to say that during their lifetimes.

Eight days until we begin THE DRIVE FOR FIVE . Call me crazy but I DO think that Patty can pull this off even with all the newcomers . If UT could make it to the title game with a bunch of newbies and their KING OF THE CLOWNS coach ,I think we can win #5 in a row .

IF #5 in a row, then there will be more in a row to follow.waddy's ghost wrote: Wed Jan 29, 2025 9:02 am Eight days until we begin THE DRIVE FOR FIVE . It’s fascinating to see how the sports media is going wild over the possibility of the KC Chiefs winning three Super Bowls in a row. Yes that would be an incredible feat, especially since it’s never happened before. But...I can't help to wish that just once before the Super Bowl, they might make mention of OU's softball team winning four consecutive championships and just how remarkable of an achievement that is...but I’m not holding my breath for that to happen..

What OU did was amazing but pro sports are designed (especially the NFL) to have parity.. not the case in college sports ….viacool wrote: Wed Jan 29, 2025 11:29 am It’s fascinating to see how the sports media is going wild over the possibility of the KC Chiefs winning three Super Bowls in a row.
