There seems to be some smoke around Knowles, but who knows. I guess we have to wait another week. I think it would be an amazing hire. I also think BV can call the defense at a championship level as well.

I mean getting ANY of those guys means OU would start over running their Defense. Most of these fluffy articles either gloss over or completely ignore that fact. We have the personnel to Run BV's D and he's the best D-Coord in the biz. Roof and Alley were CoDC's . My guess is it's Brandon Hall as (Co) DC. He's been a DC before AND he knows BV's system and expectations. Unless there is another former Clemson assistant somewhere that knows BV's system almost as well as he does.

**Update so it looks like Goodwin the Clemson DC has been fired. Not sure how this would work.. but if BV was comfortable with him, as good as any. Sounds like his first 2 years were good and the end of this season the wheels came off. Hard to know. It seems like everyone outside of OU has ignored the fact that half OUr, offense, WR's and OL were injured so it's hard to know what really happened with Goodwin,

Just concerned about two things:
1) Can BV let go of the reins?
2) Can the powers to be and the $$$ convince Knowles that that will happen?

I agree with Captnop BV is not going to change a thing with his offense. Ole saying (Do not fix, what’s not broken) 👍🪰

That's true.
While BV's rushing D is probably the best there is, the passing D does need some work.
If he can bring in someone with a sound passing D to put together with BV's rushing D, that would help. But I don't know which of the guys we're looking at would be the best fit there.

Its the best defense we've had in years ... The pass D had issues, but show me one this year that didn't ?? Ohio St Maybe? thats about it. The rule changes have skewed the game in favor of the O.
